I don't think they can truly evaluate his career until he's retired. Messi has never won the World Cup or tested himself in another league aside from Spain. I think he's the best in the world at the moment but Pele is the only footballer to have been in 3 World Cup winning squads. His legacy may never be topped.

I missed the round up, have they just said one of the goals was offside?

That's the same then, so how many WCs has Messi won?
PS. I think Messi's awesome.

I'm amazed it wasn't pointed out mid-game. Then again, they aren't re-showing any of the incidents, I thought they may have shown the possible handball on the floor by Pique in the box.

Pele was professional at a time when players weren't playing in other Countries in the numbers that they are now. I think it's also a testament to him that he played the vast majority of his competitive career for the Club he loved as opposed to going to Italy, Spain or England for money. You could argue his later move to the USA was to help raise awareness for Football over there. No doubt referred to as Soccer!

Messi so far has won bugger all world cups. Yet. He'll hardly win three though.
Even Maradonna didn't win three. Although he practically won one on his own.
