A wage cap could be a huge problem if the rest of Europe doesn't follow. You really think top class players will go to / stay in England if they can make much more in Spain, Italy or Turkey?

I think it is a valid point. Especially as people are beginning to doubt our league after the European competitions.
We want to bring in the best, so we have to pay the best.
I still think every club should have a minimum float that is credit not debt.
That way you can monitor which owners can afford to do business and which are dragging clubs down.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's time to pick your favourite UAE and Chinese team, because that's where the best players will be going.

I think i've said before that when the 2018 world cup is over and done with, and they have all these stadia with climate control, I believe there will be a pitch for a european super league hosted partly in the middle east.

The money is available, the stadia will be available, the clubs are greedy enough, there is no reason why this cant happen.

This is the sort of thing that has happened for years in rugby league to subvert the salary cap, and when caught clubs have had the book thrown at them. Its not practical - if the sponsors were the answer, then the sponsors could just pay more to the club and the club pays the wages, its the same net result isnt it.

I really do not want to resurrect a stupid debate which affected my feeling - as You are well aware, Noolie - but try and imagine which of our foreign stars would give a s**t if proposed to pen a new contract for half the par value and collect the remaining half in a discreet offshore account in AD or elsewhere....

I'm not looking to open this can of worms again, mate. But as far as I recall, a salary cap was never a part of the domestic FFP discussions until now. There are and probably always will be creative ways around the FFP regulations, but a salary cap is yet another hurdle for us - and one that I think it would be harder to get around. I don't think our club should be involved in criminal activities like tax evasion, etc. like you seem to suggest.

I do not suggest anything, mate.
The idea of myself being criminal seems to become pretty popular: it's at least the third time I must read such an opinion, rather implied or openly spoken... :-)

I just rest confident on the fact that no accountancy regulation have never succeeded in stopping an extremely well funded and shrewdly managed Investment.
I must certainly be as daft and criminal as anyone may enjoy to paint me out, but I still fail to see anything on these rules which might stop City to acquire the services of anyone shall be deemed useful to progress of the Club. Should it ever - actually - happen, I shall prompt myself for a complete set of apologies.

end of my criminal opinion.

I had, Ron.

the are countless means to pass round accountancy regulations.
Insofar I am aware Marwood [undeliberately, of course] has been more efficient than FFP to the aim the Establishment deem. It tells everything on FFP perspective.
Problems are to have adequate funds and a skilled awareness on how to use them efficiently. And Thanks for the Club MCFC has plenty of both qualities.

You're putting words in my mouth, mate. Nowhere did I call you, or imply that you are, a criminal.
However, you did suggest that players could get paid through an offshore account, and that is something I doubt that the UK tax office would be very pleased with.

Payments have been made to players in the past by this method as is the case with salaries for many people in the business world ;)

I know You are a fair friend to me, mate.
And I have already outed my naive inadequacy to cyber-life.

I am just puzzled on whether I'd consider more illegal the attempt of an Establishment desperate enough to hide their intention to stop any fair competition behind the word fair..... or the use of a very common counter-measure in the business world of all times, as a reaction thereof.

Anyway, I do not care to make a point on this oddity, as I am absolutely confident on that no harm shall never be caused to City through these means.
