As one who calles for Hart to be played and Panty for the final I for one admit my error of judgement. The guy saved us twice for sure putting himself in the line.

Very good performance, very commanding and good in the air. Solid catching and decent distribution at times. Stuck to his line a couple of occasions where he maybe should have come out but cannot really fault him.

Yup am chuffed for him as a lot to live up to. He nailed his slot on May 10th. :-)

It was down the far end from me, so couldn't see it clearly, but did he have a little paddy at one point about the defence he was getting? Looking like he was jumping up and down whilst shouting at the players

Catch the ball.

But punching is pro

Punching when catching would be unnecessarily risky is the right thing to do but punching for the sake of punching (ie. when a catch would be straightforward and much less risky) is a fucking dumb course of action....esp when you do spazpunches like Joe often does which go straight to a lurking opposition midfielder.

I'm very glad Roberto stuck with Panty. One goal conceded on the way to a major final is a great record irrespective of the standard of some opposition and it would have been totally the wrong thing to do if he had picked Joe yesterday. Very happy for Costel and hope he has a great game in the final....

nb. that hand he got in front of Mata to the ball was outstanding

Doesn't Joe have to make the pitch at least once to get a medal though?

Deserved his place and let no-one down. Hard to improve if you dont play and we need two top keepers. A good incentive for Joe Hart to lift his game again.

Fucking hell. He was brilliant BUT no way would I want to see anyone between the sticks but Yo Hart in final.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Am I right in thinking that when we played Stoke in the final they played their number two keeper had played in all the previous rounds?

If we want to keep two good keepers you have to give one of them a chance of play 15 odd games a season. If he does not play in the final their will be no shortage of takers when he rightfully asks for a move. We are lucky he is an international keeper to keep him match fit. He was fantastic yesterday. He was excellent in the charity shield as well apart from the fuck up at the end. His distribution and catching is better.

Our last three games will probably mean nothing and we should win them regardless. I hope he gets a run out out in them to keep him sharp for the final.

he has to play in the final, he's our "cup" keeper - hart is our "league" keeper - mancini said as much himself

You all know my opion about my romanian fella, however he has gained some really nice experience working with Battara. He is much better since he was at Timisoara, but the defence in front of him has a huge role in this.

Not many of you know, but he started from the first minute with the dutch, when Romania played there the last month and he was shite and that was because he had a shitty defence in front of him that let them score 4 times.

As i said before, the reason he is staying on the line is because he still has the problem with the crosses and high balls that he always had. In the first half, right by the end, Chelsea had a free kick from the position where Gazbaz later passed the ball to Sergio and if you remember, Lemmons almost let them score with his weird reaction.

So all in all, he must play in the final, maybe could get some matches in the league, just to wake up Joey from his season sleep that he is in and to motivate him.

And to listen to the local media, he might go at the end of this season. He wants to be a starter and the chances here are almost zero.

To be honest I'm a bit sick of this progressive passing football.

Give him a shirt, stick him upfront and lumping it towards him. It's what Stu would've wanted.

Costel certainly proved the doubters wrong and, yes, IMO he should and will play in the final.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.
