I was ut of the contry & then I've stayed off here & will continue to, because I've got very little good to say, so I don't want to spoil other people's enjoyment of the end of season & Cup Final. I can't bite my tongue & kiss arse when I know stuff is wrong, so I'm off.

Just for the record though, the 2nd best team has walked away with the title.

It's not about winning every year, it's about competing. We didn't compete. I want our team to compete so no, I'm not happy. I'm not spoilt either, I just KNOW City are better than Utd & I recon you all know it too, but some of you are pretending not to.

we have fucking blown it BIG STYLE.

Utd have beaten the utter shite which has been put in front of them & we have lowered our standards & used their winning run as an excuse not to do the same. Any team worth it's salt would have pushed them & they would have bottled it. Unfortunately. City, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea are not good enough to even challenge them.

A season of proper football followed by 2nd or even 3rd place is no problem for me.

A season of vastly underachieving AND THE MANAGER IS STILL TRYING TO FUCK ABOUT WITH THE SYSTEM WHICH STARTED IT AL!!!! In the middle of a game, he makes it 10 times worse, just to try & get a performance out of that lumbering bag of fucking shite in midfield. Ends up taking him off. Oh but we coul;d have had Martinez lumbering about instead, then we would have won the Champions League. Bollocks.

Anyway I'll enjoy the cup final from a distance & perhaps the rags will spunk the title away just like we have, because they are nothing, but I doubt it unfortunately.

All the best.

I think Ted's views are not unreasonable.

The thing Manchester City fans have to do, is remember that we are big fish now, we are players at the top table of the European game. Yes we should be grateful for what we have, but we absolutely shouldn't accept a need to be grateful as a reason to excuse some of the things that have happened on the pitch this season.

I understand why both camps hold their views, but I think I can confidently speak for me, Ted, Piccs, Carl and some of the others who are disappointed with this season when I say that in terms of the big picture we couldn't be happier with where Manchester City is as a club.

But where we are as a team is a completely different thing, and the view we take is that the manager appears to be offering up nothing new to the table, to resolve the problems which first became apparent through the middle third of last season. In fact he has actually taken us backwards in some ways. In the Champions league for example, I dont think any of us rated more than a 50/50 chance of getting out of that group (perspective), but the tactical naivity which took hold at Ajax both home and away, along with Dortmund at home were just inexcusable given the resources at his disposal.

When we see the same problems occur again and again, why can we not voice our opinions about it?

The club is in sound hands, the club is well positioned for the future, but we seem to have a manager who can't take us to where this group of players should be able to take us.

I don't think it's lofty expectations given the quality of our squad.

It does not help when people like Patrick Vieira fan the flames.

Apparently he has given an interview in France saying our season has been a failure,we should have progressed in the Champions League and retained our title.Roberto Mancini will be fucking livid.

Just on the off chance he reads this why don't you do us all a favor Vieira and fuck off back to Arsenal you cunt, you know those comments will cause a shit storm.

Fucking sick to death with pricks who don't even have coaching badges, managerial experience, football pundits, and hormonal teens playing Fifa 13 thinking they can do a better job.

I hope our owners are not considering replacing him, and using people like Vieira for soundbites because they underestimate how we fans feel about Mancini at their peril.

We have had a shocking week. A narrow 2.1 win v the scum at the swamp is ok but last year we won 6.1 and it should have been 10 so we are going backwards. Then a narrow 2.1 semi final win at Wembley. After getting two up we should have battered them 5 nil ,they are only european champions after all. Then after those 2 easy games we got lucky against Wigan and only got 3 points.

What a disappointing week.

i'm crying. Crying!

Also, related to the above post about what Paddy V allegedly said...if he said it then fair play to him. It's a reasonable argument i believe. Some on here believe the same. I don't find it a "failure" but someone like Mancini might and i'm sure he wouldn't be saying it if he felt it would unsettle the manager.

Great contribution to the thread.

I much prefer these kind of comments though.....

“Has this season been a success? No. The aim this season was to retain the title and do better in the Champions League so, no, you can’t say our season was a success.
“We’re in the Cup Final so that’s a good way of saving the season.
“But we had a team you’d expect to do better. We could have done better.”

These comments are from PV and not some div in the back ground. All he has done is highlight what a lot of us fans want for our club - some fans like the Finnish git will be happy to ignore the repetitive mistakes that Mancini has made just so long as we get to a final along the way.

We won the league last season but could have done better as we "failed" in everything else. The trouble is a team just can't get better every single year and win more and more and more trophies. But as others have said we would at least like to compete a little harder in all competitions even if we don't win them.

I hope and expect this season in the league will be a big learning experience. For all sorts of reasons we have flopped in matches which should not have happened so for next season I would expect we will strengthen the squad,we will remove some players and I sincerely hope we will attack the league games from day 1,whoever we play, as if it's the most important game of the season.

We cannot afford to go into games expecting teams to roll over.I expect a much more successful Chimps league to show we have learned something about how to play such games and thus of course qualification for the latter stages.

But if we win the FA cup this year will will have 3 good trophies in 3 seasons. That's a pretty good average to aim for.

On our own patch we saw how hard it is last night, what is so hard for City fans to understand we are a toddler, having to learn fast we are a scalp, If we looking at development early in the season that would have been a loss. 8 wins on the bounce, when was that deemed ok or not good enough, to little to late. We have made mistakes this season and did last season. Just look where our Derby not so long ago "County" are for a reality check. Win the FA Cup and second fine for me.

Yes, it would have saved our season for sure IF we win the FA cup but I want to know when Mancini will actually stop making the same OBVIOUS mistakes? when is the penny going to drop with him?

It is looking more likely that he will stay for next season and winning the FA cup and coming second would seal that , and I suppose thats fair enough but next season there should be zero excuses.

No one is saying they are not happy with the bigger picture.
People are disappointed that a less than great Rag side have walked away with the league. The league was effectively over in February and that just wasn't good enough. Yes we've come far and yes I'm delighted at where we are as a football club but we can't just ignore our 'failings' so to speak.

We saw on derby day just how much better we are than the rags and that is why some are disappointed we didn't put up more of a fight this season. If this rags side was playing Barca esque football then fair enough but they've steamrolled the league playing for the large part averagely. If Mancini had got our players to play to the level they can we would have won the league or at very least put in a far bigger challenge than we have this season. That's what the frustrating bit is, I can take losing to a great side but this United team is not a great side.
We also shouldn't be happy with second, because to me that's loser talk. We need a winners mentality. Do you think the Rags or Barca were happy with coming 2nd last season? Would Usain Bolt have been happy coming 2nd in the Olympics? NO! 2nd is a comfort zone.
The `Champions League as well. I'm not angry we didn't progress but seriously our efforts were pathetic and we didn't win a single game. As others have said, it's not about not winning because we can't and won't win everything, it's about not challenging.

Too many games this season we've just not played well enough and we can make all the excuses we want but we should be beating the likes of Sunderland, QPR and Southampton and that's not arrogance, it's what you have to do to win titles.

I don't want Mancini out and I'll be delighted if we win the Cup but next season we need to be far better. We don't even need to sign that many playes. If we can get our players performing to the level they're capable of we'll win the league.
