Alarm bells rang when i saw the bit about giving left over shirts to the other clubs owner who was a influential and wealthy - having worked with people in African countries these types of people are the worlds best at manipulation and lies (even when facts are in front of them they don't deter from their version of events)

Sierra Leone have been trying to eradicate this type of thing but like most countries in their position it is the wonga that rules and those who have influence can do whatever they want. The officials are corrupt as hell and can be bought easily and readily.

With this case though, there was always going to be some backlash from those who feel they would be undermined with a smaller participant getting extra funding from an outside agency. Armani chose to do the right thing and probably envisaged himself doing a good job in enabling other clubs to get the benefits of Umbro's, City and fans support to his club. What he didn't envisage is that those in power would feel that they were being undermined or have some of that power they hold eroded.

The question is, do City or Umbro have another part to play in this? By supplying kit and equipment it could be said that they are party to what is happening now, epecially knowing how some of these countires work.

There must be a simple way to deal with this issue, like proving that the boots were part of the shipment to Armani. Surely we/Umbro could afford to give him some top quality legal representation and the upside of that will be some very good PR value in supporting our supporters worldwide.

Come on City, Umbro, and whoever can, give some support to what we now regard as our 'Interational Family'.

You're correct mate, if they hadn't provided surplus kit to this other club the issue wouldn't be there. Paul Lake has a responsibility to assist with his defence and as an employee of the club at the time so do the club. It was the naivety of Paul and this involved that helped cause this situation in the first place.
