I sincerely doubt that we would sell Tevez without having a replacement lined up

Silly to panic, we can always convert Kolarov into a striker, he can be our Ian Marshall.

I'm not panicking AT ALL but at the same time it's silly to claim "we are going to be awesome next season" when we are about to lose one of our main attacking forces and have added winger whose success will be tied to system we play in Navas and mostly unknown quantity (I still call bullshit on anyone claiming to know how he will be unless your name is Ivan or Segei) in Fernandinho. That is to team that finished to pretty distant second in league and failed to get out of our Champion's League group. I assume that those two competitions are what The Engineer are expected to compete for.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Hi, Ivan here, Sergei & I would like you to know that Fernandinho is currently miles better than Isco & much less of a gamble, but we both think a replacement must be signed for Tevez.

Nice.On the basis that Pellegrini sanctioned the sale of Tevez ( which overall I see as a good deal for City) I have to assume that a) we will be getting a different top quality striker and b) we are going to play a little differently than we did or would with Tevez in the team. There is plenty of time to get that striker before the season starts and although I would like it sorted sooner rather than later I don't see any reason to get impatient.

I'm not comfortable with less than 4 strikers, although one can be a kid or technically a goalscoring mid. If the Count thinks Guidetti can get fit & take the 4th spot, then I'll trust his judgement but imo we need to find about 20 more goals from somewhere as Navas & Fernandinho will only chip in 10/12 between them at the most. I expect us to be much better in attack so that will add a few to the current squad total, but I still don't see us being Champs without adding more goals to the squad, as I fear we will let more in.

It is a shame about Isco if it turns out to be true we lost him. However he was only a good prospect not totally proven. We can get another good prospect attacking mid I'm sure, maybe next summer even.
Now we can get a 3rd striker... which if you think about it is an interesting problem, trying to second guess Pellegrini's outlook for this season and what type of player and physique to potentially play with either of Dzeko or Aguero or even both together.

Me, I'd go for a decent all rounder, no need to be well known but a good finisher would be best. Above mid height, decent in the air, good at assists and coming from midfield. Kind of a taller Milner if you like who currently plays a 2nd striker role now.

any ideas? must be some German or Dutch players like that...

Even that's very positive. Navas at least has a poor shot in him. He is good at setting up other people but pretty trash in front of goal.
