Mancini didn't make changes that early.
Your talking of the Tevez of two years ago not the pale imitation of himself he was last season, in which he scored just 2 away goals in all competitions, just 4 against top ten opposition and finished with the lowest league goal tally of all of our strikers despite having a lot more minutes on the pitch than them.
If Dzeko had the same amount of game time he'd score double what Tevez did even if he is a big fucking pansy.
Check that stats mate. He came off every game.
Anyway I'm not wanting to get into a Tevez debate again. I shouldn't have mentioned him.
My point is dzeko needs to add to his game or we will need a more versatile player up there regularly.
Checked. Average of 70 minutes a game.
Back to Dzeko, it depends how Pellers wants to play him, if he just stays in around the box he's a real asset as his strike rate is up there with the best of them. It's when he starts to wander that the problems occur because his touch and passing leave a lot to be desired.
He also needs to man up a bit, for the size of him he should be bullying centre halfs, not the other way round. If rumours of Pepe coming are true it may help Dzeko as being marked by that nutjob every day in training has to toughen you up.
If he's going to be the main man up front, and as you say that's his best place on the pitch (he's dire everywere else) then he needs to imrpove his first touch, concentration and strenth. He needs to be able to hold the ball up and shield it better - too many times his first touch let him down or his passing was dire - problem is it's noticed more as it breaks our atack down when he loses it and he's not the type of player who can go storming arround the pitch to chase it back down (like the Kuns/Tevez's of the world).
As a goal scorer he's proven in that field, but again his lack of concentration lets him down drastically at times (like the glaring miss).
