I think he brings more to us than a fast bloke who can cross a ball - he used his pace to win a lot of loose ball tonight, did a lot of clearing up as well as the more obviously spectacular stuff.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Chasing down the ball from a toon attack that ended up with krul shitting himself was great to see.

Good point. He has a tremendous work rate and used his pace in both attacking and defensive work. You get the feeling that even if a ball is played too short to him he will still be the first player to it due to his sheer pace and determination. Fantastic debut and I can't wait to see him tear Evra a new arsehole on the 22nd Sept

Excellent display, he combined intelligently with Zabba and gave us great width.
It would be nice to have a similar option on the other flank.
He moves so fast, I keep thinking hes going to get himself injured.
Already a VIP.

i dont know how we ever played without width like he provides.

he also puts the ball across the field to change sides very well. and how many corners did he win for us?

very impressed. it was Newcastle after all, but still.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

It's many years since we had someone who could cross a ball properly. Wonderful.

Pacy and direct.

Want to see him with chalk on his boots all the time stretching the field for us. Real tests will come from November to February when the pitches are heavier as he does look a little lightweight. However Silva adapted well and Im sure he can too. Cant help also having his brother at Bury now - I wonder who financed that deal eh :)

He's no Tony Scully...

Loved his delivery as well, Edin nearly got on the end of that free kick.

Also I can't remember seeing City do any cross field balls in the opposition half for years before last night. Lovely exchange between Jesus and Silva

Seeing someone in a city shirt look up before they cross a ball! Good enough for me. Great debut

What I particularly enjoyed was that whenever we had the ball in the middle of the park half the Newcastle players immediately looked to their left, nervously. That'll help us psychologically this season.

And consistently clearing the first man - unheard of!
