Yep - also mentions for Sergio's quality and great to see fernandinho put in a top display - our next Nige de Jong/Kevin Horlock in the making

silva for me, despite Aguero's 2 goals and 1 assist. silva controlled it all.

Was Fernandinho's quality performance connected to some player who we've signed & Fernandinho introduced to Twitter as his friend? May be he's not feeling as homesick now? Talking about players who used to feel homesick where was Navas (it might be covered in another thread & I'm being lazy)

I know many will go for Sergio but I think there were a few that made it happen. This is the 1st game where I'd say we're seeing the best of Fernando and at the same time Yaya had a good game. Silva, Nasri?

Tough to choose between David and Sergio but I'd have to say Aguero. My initial feeling was Silva but scoring 2 goals (almost a 3rd) and an assist in 80 minutes of work is massive.

Silva's early yellow card also created a liability for us in the match. I know that Silva is not a vital element to our defence but anytime Garcia is in front of the net, we need card free mid fielders...

Aguero is man of the match BUT Silva is back!

Since half the site thinks we have too many strikers why don't we just convert dzeko to centre half?

A non tackling non aggressive center half now that's an interesting plan :)

He was certainly looking good but I think that was due in part to him being given space to play in and not being fouled out of the game - IMO the overall improved quality of the team play and individual improvements, especially Negredo pulling defences out of shape, will allow DS to shine this season.

Oh, and my vote went to Fernandinho who has been slated by some for his price but who looked like a bloody bargain!
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

I like wins like that where there are a number of players who could get MotM.Silva was quality and as I sa8id from training last week he is a joy to watch when at his best.I don't actually think he was given space either,at least not till WHU started going for it,but he was finding little pockets and with his touch and control seemed to get time.

Yaya quality,Fernandinho quality, Negredo looking a great leader of the line,Hart had a good game too but of course the press don't mention him unless it's to slaughter him.

I was actually going to say that Hart looked good yesterday. Negredo is really looking like the pick of our recent buys though, he is fantastic to watch and just love what he is bringing to the team. We have sorely missed some physical presence but he is such a team player.

I don't want to cascade praise too far down and he still had a couple of "moments" when he got drawn out of and then was left stranded out of position but Garcia actually did a few decent things yesterday....
