Gutted to hear Kompany is ruled out, it's a huge blow ahead of such a crucial fixture.I would love to think that Pellers is playing mind games but i doubt he is.

I have no confidence in Garcia at all at centre back and can see our defence leaking goals against any quality opposition if he's in the side. The likes of Oscar, Mata and Hazard will relish the chance to take advantage of his defensive naivety.

I guess we will have to rely on the Negredo/Aguero partnership producing the goods again.

Is Demichelis ready i wonder?

Until the teams run out onto the field Vinny has a chance. Surely Pellers isnt going to hand iniative to Chel 2 days early

I think he's avoiding giving them a boost just before kick-off.

Lets hope he is ready. Garcia & Nasty together isnt going to fill anyone with confidence, least of all Hart. Is it worth playing a half fit Vinny over a fully fit Garcia? Ordinarily i would say no but this is a huge game as Chelsea are our closest rivals and a defeat would set us back somewhat

I dont think its as cut and dried as that. Garcia isnt ideal but to say we'll definately lose is too slur the other 10 who do play

Vinnie or no Vinnie we'll win. Very confident about this one. If our attacking players turn up that is.
Chelsea just don't look that good this season.

Why are all other 10 players not capable of winning us the match? Utter nonsense your talking. Yes Garcia is crap but we have other players who are world class and can win us the match.

If Garcia plays he may consider 4-5-1, although I wouldn't hold my breath. Let's hope his distain for mourinho stretches to telling fibs to the press.

I notice that the media have tried to pick a fight with Pellers and Maureen, telling us that Maureen wasn't too complimentary towards Pellers. Not quite the same when they both say there's no problem between them.

I have no idea which way this game will go, so difficult to call. With our attack it could go for us but with their midfield it could go the other way. One thing I do know is that we both don't have the best of defences so I think we should go all out attack.

No change there then ;-)

Torres is looking quite good at the moment so be careful what you wish for!
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Under Mancini against Chelsea we could expect a draw or a win. With the count I'm unsure. Especially since vin diesel is injured. Not only is Garcia shit in his normal position but he is so bad at cb. If I was lescott I'd ask for a transfer if this mug starts ahead of me. It does not make sense when micha, lescott could play there. Micha needs more game time anyway if zab is playing on the right. Not to mention nasti has been found out this season as a lightweight.

I am really not impressed with Garcia as a CB - he just lacks some of the basic skills - but he does have a football brain when the ball is back on the ground.

I know that I am in a tiny minority here but in the PL of 2013/14 and the style of football played I would start Garcia before Micah every time at CB - people forget that no matter how improved Micah is he does not have a football brain. I would also very often start Garcia ahead of Lescott - depending on the opposition - Lescott is a far better 'traditional' CB but so limited in then transitioning to attack.

Of course I wish we had available a really good back up option - ideally coming through from the youth team that could do the job needed. On the basis of what we had I would have rather that we kept Kolo as back up.

When you have yaya, fernado, nasri, silva, Aguero, Dzeko, Milner, navas, negredo etc to rely on a defender to start attacks is just ridiculous. Defenders should above all be able to defend.

Should be a cracking game. Both teams played virtually their strongest side midweek and both were away.

Do not know if that was a response to my post - but if so I really think that you are missing a big aspect of how the game is played in 2013/14. You need to have Goalkeepers that are not just excellent at stopping shots - but can then act to start the game moving from defence.

Even more so you need defenders that can, for instance win the header and break up an attack - but increasingly as important link to the M/F and start the attacks. The era of the Lescotts that can do nothing other then pass 5 yards sideways are history. Every Time Lescott has the ball it means that the opposing midfield and defenders have plenty of time to organise before he has worked out in which direction he is going to play the ball for 5 to 10 yards.

BTW - not suggesting that Garcia is anything other than a poor CB - just that I understand if Pellers does not see Micah or Joleon as a preferred option. So basically we do not have a satisfactory option - I would criticise Garcia as much as anyone as a CB - but (personal opinion) I can see Micah or Joleon making just as many mistakes.
