Again, no he wasn't check the Cardiff player coming in late to score the lampard style goal and check out Garcia blocking the passing lane to him. He looks up, sees Vinny defending the ball, zaba accross the box and takes the 3rd option. Vinny just got pantsed is all.

As for the witch hunt. It's quite simple, a number of us said he was shit, when he was shit. Those same posters almost universally sang his praises last night. It's no coincidence.

Let's face it, that tackle late on where he slid in and that chest control as he ran through putting his body on the line when their player wanted to volley from the corner are two pieces of hard noses defensive play that we've never seen from him before. Add in his competent mopping up which had also been absent and it's easy to see why this discussion would happen after this game. It's no mystery, he's been shit, but played really well last night.

No! A number of you said he was shit when you were looking to blame somebody when things weren't right. Instead of blaming the people who were not performing. That is why he is your scapegoat.

I think that the guy has done what has been asked of him. Central defense or midfield.

Funny how we have scored a record number of goals and had people call us the entertainers with Javi the side.

Have to admit, he had a good game.
But i still find it strange to start him over Milner.

I've often thought that Garcia has been vilified for generally doing a good job, that's to say the job that is asked of him rather than the job that some would prefer he do. Today he was exceptional as were the rest of the defence. Cardiff were actually limited to about 6 shots, as opposed to the 20 or so that we had, but Joe had a bit of a mare again.
IMO Garcia was motm for me and it would've been 4-0 or perhaps 4-1 at worst of Costel had been between the sticks.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Really you ever played goalkeeper mate Joe has all the goal to protect and he is trying to cut the angle down to the far post. The striker is clever by giving him the eyes and puts it in the corner he is'nt looking at.

Really, come off it!! Credit where it's due he's improved a ton over the past couple of games but he's been complete crap in the majority of games he's played. Long may his improved form continue

Solid today. And the time before.

Still wish we had gaz baz when we want to deploy a player like that. Sad we let him go.

What can become of Garcia? Who knows. He could still come good I suppose. Hopefully we are seeing the start of something good.

And second goal - no way a goalie should let the ball pass so close to his line without moving quickly to claim it. Joe is bloody awful at dealing with crosses / corners because he can't command his box - and no excuses today because he wasn't being marked, crowded or hindered - he just stood there gawping like a daft kid. The ball that fell as the second cardiff goal would've been taken in hands by Costel and then distributed quickly up-field to feet to put us on the offensive.

Wrong again. I've said he was shit all through this massive win streak too. That's because he had been. Last night was by far his best game in a city shirt. If there was a poll asking that I reckon 2-1 you'd get an answe of yes back no sweat.

Bayern Munich and yesterday showed what he can do. Hats off to the lad; he's stuck at it after an indifferent debut season and worked hard to adapt. Watch his recent interviews on the OS to see how seriously he's taking learning English and improving his game. I like him. His not being as good as x, y or z doesn't matter if he can do his own job for us when called upon, like yesterday.

I would love to see him succeed but I just don't believe he's good enough. He has put in a few decent shifts this season but usually only managing one good half per game even when he's on form.I'm pleased to be seeing signs of encouragement but I'm yet to be convinced.

Whether it's a plan by the Count, or just Garcia doing a Gareth Barry & spotting a huge gaping fuckup hole between the centre backs I don't know, but on several occasions he has been defending in the backline, in the centre back position.

At times it's almost like we are playing 3 at the back & he is the middle cb.

He has done it well too, much better than when he did actually play in a back 3 under Mancini & was a joke.
