Total fuckhead
And
What a shit driver - drunk or not
ha...that was my first thought. I've accidentally driven shitfaced twice in my life, and i would NOT fucking recommend it, and i did nothing of the sort.
He's very lucky he didn't smash those cars into those lads on the street and kill one. Fucking idiot. But i'd also blame his friends. The times i made those mistakes, and luckily managed to get home or to my hotel without issues, i was with people who should have had a word with me. I thought i was just fine until i started the car, and after about 30 seconds i realized...fuck me....i might actually be drunk. It's not a great feeling and i can tell you that your instincts to push on and get home are the wrong ones. Esp. if yr a 22 yo kid. Just call a taxi and get home. No worries. No one to answer to...not a big deal.
This kid won't ever really matter to us on a football pitch. He'll be fucked off i'd guess, as he would have been if he hadn't done this. Hopefully we can help him get his head sorted and shit before we fuck him off to some League 1 side or a team in Sweden, etc.
and btw...i actually agree with Herb that this kind of thing happens sometimes and the kid's very very lucky, but he's not pure fucking evil or something. He's just done something very very stupid, and it can happen. Only way to avoid it is to know going in that you WON'T be driving when yr drinking...simple.
Do they have some kind of training for kids in Footy academies around "real life" shit that would help them understand how dumb this is? They do here in the US with NFL and NBA players. Not that you might notice, but imagine if it's actually working.
