I distinctly remember my Arse cousin revelling in our 2nd Cup loss/exit due to Wigan, now its 1-0, the schadenfreude clock is ticking...

Arse has taken a championship side to extra time ... but if this goes on to penalties, will Liverpool take them?

Uwe needs to tell that big rag shite to pull the feather out of his fucking arse & get involved in the game. Wigan have been playing with ten men since he came on.

Fair play to Wigan. If Arse lose though, where does it leave Wenger if Everton do pip them for fourth?

Lets hope Clattenburg sees enough penalties in next 10 mins to see him through the next two weeks!

I think he will be in trouble if they lose this. Giroud on the bench? Sanogo left on whilst Podolski is subbed. All seemed odd to me.

Dropped a clanger there letting Caldwell take the first one - shit player, first game in ages. Not the least bit surprised he missed. Dreadful penalty.

And Collison is pointless. Where was Gomez? Shocking decision all around.

Gary fuckin Caldwell FFS.

Losing a game with 3 or 4 mins left is bad as we know but losing on pens is the worst. I'm not keen on the penalty thing but the game does have to end. It's a long way home for Uwe and their fan and will seem longer at this time of the eve. Feel a bit sorry for them and I suppose their victory over us counted for nothing in the end. I think Uwe can take them up though. Their squad is easily the best in the Championship.

Don't be so fair-mindedly generous old chap.

Wigan, after all, are the odious Dave Whelan's outfit.

I know some have an issue with Wigan but for me, I have no qualms. Whelan is a likeable rogue who put his money where his mouth was and kept them in the Prem fighting above their weight. He's got a chance of doing it again with appointing Uwe and I for one would like to see them succeed.

Shame about today though, the odds were against them.

I agree with most of that but Wigan made a big deal about beating us, and in particular their achievement in beating a bank rolled team. But Whelan bank rolled them too. They would still be in the fourth flight or worse without his money.

id rather laugh at Arsene for failing again. they did basically fuckall in the match and got lucky off a Gibbs/Ox (i genuinely dont kow which one it was) scuffed shot. fairly play to Fabianski in the shootout though.
