Yes of course, Martin, football began in 1992, and we should never forget that.

Although I do remember reading an article about Burnley winning the league in 1960... can't remember the exact details, but along the lines of them NEVER being top until they beat us in their final game, a game in hand played after everyone else, thus overtaking one, possibly two sides who had already completed their fixtures. This must be the most heroic way to win the league and completely piss off all the other teams in the division. Wonder what Wenger would say about that?

Too young to remember, but I don't think we had too many days on top in 1967-68?

I do remember we were top for the best part of two months in Autumn 1977, during which we won the derby and beat Liverpool, but we faded badly in the new year and finished fourth.

In the early eighties, we were top for two years... December 31st 1981, and January 1st 1982.
