Well played Atletico. That must have been one hell of a match to be involved in. What pressure must they have been under?

Fair do's to the Barca fans who applauded the Atletico players. Bit of class there

Proud of them, real fairytale stuff. Now for them to win the double because I have them in the work pool!

What's with all the kick offs at different times? Much prefer our system of all the games at the same time.

Also surprised that in the PL era, we've never had a title decided at the end of the season, either by luck or careful planning of the fixture computer.

Ah yes... you'll be old enough to remember when Liverpool were given a nice long rest before their final fixture on the premise that John Toshack was playing in a Wales game on the final Saturday.... so about 3 weeks later were fully refreshed to beat Wolves and overhaul QPR.

Though had it been Docherty's United they'd been looking to overtake, I'd have pissed myself laughing.

hopefully Turan will be fit for the CL final. Maybe Costa can come on for 20 mins or so.
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

That stat was almost true for us in 2011-12, except for the harsh Chelsea defeat.

Blame that on Clattenscouse. He bottled when Silva got fouled in the box.

Not quite that old, but the two things I certainly think are better in the 'modern game' are no pass backs and everyone playing their last game on the same day at the same time

Great to see. Do I recall that UEFA also want to scrap this idiotic TV deal where 2 clubs get 95% of the money and everyone else bugger.all?

More likely they want to investigate Atletico for continually buying players then selling them at a huge profit to G14 clubs, which is clearly giving them an unfair advantage.

I watched most of it, and there's no question that Atletico deserved to 'win', but you gotta ask what's up with Messi.
Is it just 'post new contract-signing apathy', or had he learned the Atletico defence had got his number, and he wasn't going to get anything out of them?
Or was he 'saving himself' for the World Cup?
(seeing as how Kun should be 'fresh as a daisy', maybe Argentina see this as the perfect opportunity to spoil their arch-rivals party)

Apparently Xavi wasn't fit, but what odds our Merlin to take on the Xavi mantle for Spain, during this World Cup?
He and Iniesta displayed a great relationship in a recent friendly, and looked as if they could work just as effectively together as Xavi-Iniesta.; although Silva has always been more mobile than Xavi, and doesn't sit as deep as Xavi does.

Hope Atletico stuff Ronaldo, in the CL Final; even though I had tipped Real from early on.
