Odds on next game! Odds better on it being more than thrice!

he's still capable of moments / games like this

Lol he always has a bit of that in him but I'm glad he's our Dzonkey. As already mentioned he's had a new lease of life under Pellegrini, different player now.

I don't know but that seems like a pretty good back-heel to me !?

The pony was subject to a 'very significant' offer from Ed Woodward but turned them down because he did not want to play with donkeys. Snub count +1.

Really happy Dzeko has signed a new deal, almost more than the other guys. Alright, maybe equally as much then.

I still say that he's always been quality and rarely dipped in form. Yes he has a bad touch from time to time but so does every other player, it seems to be more noticeable when it's him because we're in such advanced positions but his touch is often brilliant too and his finishing is quality. His importance towards the end of last season really shouldn't be forgotten. Not many players I'd swap him for.

Better than his finishing was his willingness to make the tough near post runs he was reaping goals from, his bad touch rarely(with one exception) let him down when he was in that position last year, it's his first touch when he is 35 yards from goal and he has to go chasing a ball 10 yards in the wrong direction.

He keeps driving in on goal and he'll get spills and tap-ins and I expect he'll get around 20-25 goals again this season, not spectacular but consistent.

Wait, fuck all that, the best thing about him is his goals always seem to win points. Important goals are his stepover trick.

Well deserved. I think the Count is right; he's becoming a different player.

really liked the word that came out about how pellegrini differed in mancini's view on dzeko (he wanted cavani), and seemed to get better performances out of him as a result...instilling confidence, but also using the challenge of being removed from the first team if his performances were not up to par as a way to enhance this outcome.

i'll admit, i was down on dzeko after 2012-13 and was ready to add cavani instead. apparently mancini felt dzeko was more proven and could still improve. he has done well to quiet the doubters thus far.

the man management skills pellegrini has demonstrated have been really world class given the size and strength of our squad, and dzeko coming much closer to the player we hoped to buy is a testament to this, indeed.

Good news and well deserved. He carried us up top from January onwards when Negredo went to shit (where he still remains some 7 months on), Aguero was perennially injured and Jovetic was still injured.

His goal record is a testament to his ability, and despite some of the flak he gets, hes been a vital cog in what we've achieved in the past 4 seasons. Very glad he's sticking around.

The only time I came close to wanting him gone was when it looked like he'd given up mentally - thankfully he didn't play that way for long.

I've been as down on Edin as anyone at times but he was much improved last season and looks to be continuing that trend. I'm very happy about this latest and the series of new contracts.

The best thing for me is the signal it sends out about what Pellegrini is doing....he's building a true team and not just a very good side. The fact that these key players who, we all know would be much coveted by the world's top level sides, all want to re-sign and stay together sends out more of a "statement of intent" from the players themselves and the club than most shiny new signings would.

Brilliant work from the management of the club.

Well done Edin lad!

He has established himself as one of our more consistent attacking players and as a result one of our most important squad members. Keep knocking em in Edin.

Anyone know what kind of wedge he's on?
