No. Negredo had a fleet of foot and an eye for a pass that Lukaku definitely doesn't have. Lukaku's biggest problem, those points aside, anyway is that his movement is pretty poor positionally. He's really bad for just standing about in the area and not making the right runs.

For someone who is slow, lazy, no positional sense, and cannot see a pass, he has done quite well for himself so far :-)

Are you sure you're not thinking of Heskey?

Never said he's slow, never said he's lazy. He works quite hard and is pretty fast... He just definitely isn't a natural passer of the ball and you definitely don't see him attacking the near post/peeling off his man naturally either. He's done good so far, that's it. Not amazing, not terrible, just good. Nowhere near our level imo. Dzeko is a better player by some way.

Lukaku is a decent mid table Prem striker, due to his strength & pace.

If he didn't have the strength & pace he would be a1st division striker, there are plenty of players down there with as good, or better, touch on the ball.

There is one with a better touch, better skill & as much pace, but not quite as strong. His name is Devante Cole.

I took this as you saying he wasn't quick, as Negredo wasn't exactly fast.

I'm obviously in the small minority but I see a touch of drogba in him when I watch him play. Granted it's about 5-10 times a season, but I thibk he's gonna be a superstar.

He's a huge talent when you take into account he's only 21 and has years ahead of him. He's easily the stand out young striker over the last few seasons. Some of you lot are very hard to please.Everton looks the right place for him at the moment to allow him develop.

I wanted us to buy him two years ago. Not sure who I'd swap him for at the moment though. Ask again in 2 years time.

You're not alone. But having said that, I do think that if he wants to be a proper superstar he needs to start to produce now.at Everton.

He will 100% have a good career in football but imho this is his big chance to make it BIG. I'm not saying he needs to be a superstar at Everton but he does need to show here that he can make the next step, instead of just showing 'promise'
