I notice the media has gone really cool on this. Wind right out of the sails.

Personally I think Pozo is our new midfielder.

I'm never one for the mindless promotion of youth, but when I see him play he is the real deal. Didn't have much chance last night though.

Luckily Platini is there to protect us & other clubs in that position, & if we were left in a difficult financial position, his financial fair play system would ....er...

Do you think that when a profit is finally being made, that after 7 or 8 years he would just turn around and do that? After all the investment to just walk away at that stage. I am sorry I cant see it, no chance of it whatsoever.

Don't forget the classic "when the oil runs out."

Along with the old chestnut "the club isn't the same anymore" from the likes of Schindler and David Conn as well, oh woe is City winning things, being successful, expanding the stadium, regenerating a rundown area, creating jobs etc etc. Jolly awful of City is that.

There are rumours coming from the council, of another City related announcement around Christmas/New Year.

I would like to thank Gary James for his posts on here. And John too. I'm having some right royal stouts he's with some rags on Facebook and the knowledge passed on has put them in their place and debunked their myths.

City's Accounts Great news

Postby Romans_Bridge » Thu Dec 04, 2014 1:34 pm

TBH these figures are highly suspect to me.

Roman bought our club 5 years before Mansour bought you. We have won & retained the PL, won numerous domestic trophies, we have also won the Europa & Champions leagues. The Bridge is sold out every week & we are regularly through to the latter stages of the CL.

It's not possible that you can be generating the kind of money you claim to when you align it to success on the pitch. The only way this money can come in is through more bogus sponsorship deals.

They aren't bogus, real money from real businesses that want to promote Abu Dhabi. Etihad Airways is a growing company that already sponsored other teams and stadiums with no connection to Abu Dhabi, the deal with us is not out of line with those. It is natural that we would be the sponsorship choice of Abu Dhabi companies given the connections! Is a bit rich if Chelsea fans start complaining about new money by the way, not having that. Especially when your business model was built on loans from the owner and ours has been through non refundable injections of share capital.

On the contrary my friend. Whilst your friend Gourlay was sitting on his arse these last 6 years (fired now eh?), City were building contacts and companies all over the world, including football clubs in New York, Melbourne and Yokohama. Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Also 'the Bridge' is tiny in today's world. The Etihad has been sold out for some years and next season the capacity will be 55,000. 2 years later it will be 61,000. This is just the start

The Etihad and Nike deals are now clearly undersold and need to be re-negotiated or replaced. The trouble is, the other clubs (maybe except United), talk the global talk, but are actually very one-tracked, in the global world of today. Unable to think outside the box.

Revenues for year to end May:

United £433M (Expected 30M lower this year)
City £347M
Chelsea £320M
Arsenal £302M
Dippers not announced (I think) but was 200M year before

have you read the report? Or are you just bandwagon jumping? Those were rhetorical questions!
Roman has never concentrated on the commercial side, however, this is where our business model has stolen the march on you.
