I still don't think he is as bad as some have made out and given games would have done well for us.

We'll just have to see how he gets on with Villa. Wish the lad well.

I don't believe Sinclair would have done well for us, but I do believe he would have got the occasional goal. I don't believe he would improve on any of about 6 players in our reserves though & when you consider he is thought of as a Premier League player, it really makes me wonder, even more, why we haven't seen any of them.

We weren't exactly knocked over in the rush for him. If Villa go down he's apparently coming back...

It's all hypothetical, just like us having a reserve team. I know they're there but will we ever see Pellers play any of them?

To be fair, I couldn't really give a monkeys about the reserves but if one of them get through to the first team, I'll enjoy their contribution.

Anyone else get the feeling that our reserve team is more of a cash cow? We bring on good talent in the reserves and flog them on for a profit, and maybe one or two get a few games in the first team on a tour then fade into oblivion?.

It's just a case of whether Pellegrini brings them through or the bloke who replaces him. Imo.

The two things may be connected.

Neither of the goals Arsenal scored so far today, would have been scored by City, as our strikers would have been on the othef side of the defenders enabling them or the keeper to cut the ball out, or stood on the edge of the penalty area. (Or Silva would be there & flick it into the keepers arms)

If one of them ever has the idea to get in front of the defender on the near post, particularly on the other side, Navas will have more assists than anybody else. Only Jovetic has tried it so far & has at least two goals from doing it.

I wonder if Bony will provide this option, judging by one of the goals he scored in the ACON competition ??

Ted, you are not suggesting strikers making alternative runs in the box are you? This is a secret tactic only known to a few. You'll be suggesting centre halves making dummy runs at corners next. Before we know it Fernandinho will be demanding the ball pulled back to him. There could be armed insurrection, lol

I thought we'd solved all the basic complete lack of striking basics last season & that it had finally clicked but it seems it was just down to the influence of Negredo.

@ Mikhail Chigorin: Bony did take up that position a few times in the AFCON but then started taking up the 'City' positions later in games, so perhaps that was down to tiredness in the conditions, & it's down to sheer laziness that ours don't bust a gut to get near post etc ?

I don't agree with much Owen says, but he mentioned a 'eureka' moment for Balotelli the other day, actually getting into the six yard box & scoring for Liverpool which is 'where the goals are' as opposed to 'hanging back outside the box' .

Unfortunately for Owen, chances are it was not a 'eureka' moment at all, as Mario used to get into the six yard box for City several times per season & score, only to forget/couldn't be arsed, to do it for 6 weeks afterwards.

ITV just mentioned it as 'United's big game tonight'. How the mighty have fallen, usually they'd save that statement for the underdogs. Oh, wait .......

Apparently he's turning up to collect the £400 they owe him.

Ha ha ha, Butthead just said that Preston have big players, somehow inferring that they'll play the longball whereas his team are all short arses who won't. He such an insecure fucker, changing his tactics to placate the media and Sam Alladyce. Pathetic twat.

So, Dippers stay away from the Rags and both get a home draw. I'll be keeping an eye on the ref if the Rags manage to get through tonight, surely Wenger will have something to whine about.

West Brom under Pulis must have a real chance of getting to the final if they take this seriously.

These look slow at the back & toothless upfront so far.

Preston look poor as well.
