I don't see Tosin getting anything but better & better very quickly though.
I thought Rekik was going to be a legend. But he seemed very quickly to lose the leaping ability & acceleration. I thought he struggled v the likes of rag, scouse faceless no mark strikers, gave away free kicks, pens etc even in our reserve side. Admittedly I didn't see him live that many times, but whenever I did, I was seriously shocked at how dodgy his defending was compared to when I'd first seen him. The opposite seems to be the case with Tosin, so far.
Rekik's first loan at Portsmouth seemed to go really well initially, although he wasn't playing cb, but the next one was something of a disaster & I can't see a huge improvement personally, other than just a bit older.
In this PSV team now, he rarely has to do, well anything really defensively. The oppo usually get mugged before they reach him or just give the ball away. But when he is called upon to do something difficult, he usually gets nowhere near it.
Tbf, it could be the very fact that he hardly ever has to do anything, which causes him to be off the pace; like a keeper who has no shots to save then suddenly has to produce it.
But I tend to think it's most likely he's fairly crap, & is at the right level. He is one heavy, muscled looking fucker, & I wonder what kind of 'training' he did as a kid.
