100 mil for Nasri, Kolarov, Dzeko, Yaya and Jovetic

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Neville is a very clever adversary.

He is largely responsible for most of the scare stories about City, whilst pretendihg to be honest & neutral.

We don't even have a starting 11.

We shot ourselves in the foot leaving Jovetic out of the CL squad in regards to his sell-on value, should we decide to shift him now.

Dzeko is having a poor season by his standards, only 4 league goals.

Kolarov, a slow, non-defending 29-year old left back. 10m? In your dreams.

Nasri/Yaya - hard to put a price on them, but both have questionable reputations (France NT-/Cake-gate respectively) and one hasn't really performed as expected consistently, while the other is perceived as aging/declining.

All on what are most likely absurdly high wages for perpetually skint Italian clubs and all labeled 'bottlers' on the highest European club stage by default. We should try to dump them on Valencia or the next pretender instead. It worked with Negredo.

Which currency are we talking about? It certainly isn't £100m. Euros or USD maybe. Doubt we would get £20m for any of them. We haven't a great track record of getting decent fees for our players for some reason. Still think Jovetic can offer something different but the others if they were sold, then so be it. Assuming of course, decent replacements were found. Really is a shame so little action was given to the EDS lads as we still don't know if they are likely to step up. Might turn out a few actually are ready but we just aren't aware of it

Kolarov and Jovetic are well thought of in Italy. If we're looking to get the most we can for them we're better off flogging them over there.

I'd let Toure, Dzeko, Nasri, Kolarov & Boyata go. Assuming Milner, Richards, Guidetti & Wright leave, all out of contract, bring in Ings & Khadera both on free's. Bring back Lopes & Denayer, promote Gunn & buy 2 of 3 from Reus, DeBruyne or Modric plus Sandro as Kolarov replacement . Probably £120 mil for the 3 against the £100 mil we'd get for those we sell. Not sure we'd comply with all the various squad requirement rules though

and who is gonna rival him? Benoit Assou-Ekotto? Drogba?

That's besides the point, you said he's fallen off the map, that is complete nonsense.

Why would you pick two has beens anyway? There's plenty of good African players performing really well in the top European leagues at present.

Why did you leave out the bit of my post about how many goals he's scored this season? Is it because you realised that he's actually done reasonably well on that front? In fact he's scored the same amount that he did every other season ( bar last season ) he's been with us when he was well and truly on the map.

Dzeko is still worth decent money. He has a fine record with us, and over several seasons in Europe. Strikers cost big money. Even ficking Shane Long went for 12m and he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!

Didnt dzecko just sign a new contract? If so he wont be going anywhere. Your point is very good, proven goalscorers cost money, i wouldnt sell him for less than 20m. In fact id keep him, we have other areas of need first.

He's only got a couple this season despite plenty of oppurtunities - might damage his "proven" tag
Anyway - I am ok with the list of players to be sold - I'd be amazed of we get over. 50 mill for them tho

Dzeko is worth more than 20 mil, & so is Jovetic. But on this season's contribution they are not worth 10. And that's what the bidders will be looking at, whether it's the players' fault or not.

The way I would look at it, is that 20 mil plus, means clubs of a decent stature are the bidders. Would we want to spend 80 mil on Dzeko, Nasri, Yaya Toure and Jovetic in the summer ?

Imo if we get that for any, we have done really well. But again, I wouldn't sell all 4.

i would absolutely sell all 4, but at a push the only one i'd keep, oddly, is Jojo. I just have a hunch about him with different players around him. I dunno. Call me fucking stubborn. Keep him and add a couple of Ambrose/Barker/Cole/Nacho combo. Or sell him. I don't care. As i said. All four can go for me. They've extinguished their flames for City imho. Time to cut bait while there is still a sniff of value. I'd trade all four to Juve for Pogba. It's a shame that Mancini wasn't in charge of Juve instead of Inter.

Well Stubborn,
I'm more or less with you on this one. I have my doubts that Jojo is staying though. Relying on Aguero, Bony and two youngsters may be too much of a risk for us to take also. Could you imagine the shit on here if Nacho or Ambrose weren't instant hits, as soon as Sergio gets injured. If Jojo stayed it would be another option.
Cash in on the rest though and bring two quality signings. We may need to bring in three, but two absolute quality additions would be the minimum.
I've said it in other threads, I'd take the risk and with Sagna/Koloro and a few others taken off the books, the squad filled with youngsters, we may well be able to buy four additions.
