Yep, that article starts badly, mixing up last years' signings, when we won the league, with this years. Then it goes down hill.

Great to see the Bollox back though!

Claims to be a Newcastle fan living in Liverpool - I was very tempted to sign up to twitter just so I could correct him last night.

PS - I never thought I would see the day when I would be so glad to see another man's bollox - welcome back Mister Loony.

Borini £12m to Lazio

Yaya Toure £10m to Inter

Well thats seems like a logical Price match!

it's comedy. tho tbf they did say scouse filth "might" be willing to take less. Laff.

Basically with Yaya you're saving so much off the wage bill tho that it sorta makes sense that he's not going to be sold for more than 10-15M i bet. Which is sad. Even at his age he's worth 20-25M fair market value, but his wage demands are so high that a team would only want to afford him if they can beat us down on the fee. With any other player you'd tell a club to get fucked and make Yaya stick it out but he's on such a wedge that we're not going to be too picky if we decide to jettison his contract.

It's a sad end if Yaya's truly leaving. I think he was the guy, along with Tevez, who really was a masterstroke and who carried us on to titles and trophies. I miss Carlitos now and i'm sure i'll miss Yaya if he goes, but onwards and upwards.

cheers

I have quite a few, she just sent me the following one with her new Calvin's on (just her new Calvin's)

Thought it was apt that the best bollox date I've ever had should kick off the Bollox ...

Toure's outspoken agent Dimitri Seluk insists he is '90 per cent certain' the former Barcelona star will leave the big-spenders at the end of this season.

The media never fail to slip in, almost casually, the remark about City being "the big spenders", as though we're the only ones who ever have to buy players.

With all the billions and billions we have supposedly spent, one would have thought that we'd have been champions of everywhere for the last five years or so and the fact that we haven't must be because we don't have either a history or a heritage, or whatever, to attract the very best players who would want to come and play for us for next to nothing .............

Ouch; you got me in a veritable 'zugswang' there.

Just as a matter of interest, does anyone know what the tax differential is between Italy and the UK ??

In other words, for the same salary, would he be paying more, or less, tax than at present ??

Your right old chum; a complete 'typo' as some say.

Mind you, in my chess playing days, I was always far too good a player to ever get caught in such an invidious position..........Ahem......

Just tried the tax link that 'Iwasthere' posted, using an annual salary of £10 million.

If I deciphered the calculations correctly, it didn't look to me on the face of it, that there would be much initial difference to Yaya's take-home pay....or at least not enough to make a fuss over, although knowing Yaya, nothing is guaranteed in the world of money.

I just wondered that if the tax position had been more radically beneficial in Italy, that might have given us a bit more leverage in agreeing any transfer.

However, many thanks to our chum from the Emerald Isle for the thought and for posting the link in question.
