Nacho and Deneyer both look ready for the squad now. I want them both to get games.

After that I think it's neck and neck zuchulini and Garcia based on this pre season.

The others all look a little way off yet.
Tracking back is overrated.

But what about Garcia? He seems fucking fantastic. Pozo? He hasn't gone backwards has he?

Angelino shouldn't have gone on loan based upon seeing him look like Marcelo in MLS.

Who else do TwoSips and Ted and Dougie Fresh think should or could graduate this season to the first team for realz?

Regardless, VERY excited about the youngins we have. Iheanacho and Denayer could very well challenge our established players now, and that is a good thing. Lopes and Garcia are exciting as well, but not so certain just yet.

twosips wrote:Denayer is ready to be a very good squad member. Iheanacho might even (deservedly) start the season against West brom with Bony/Aguero not fit. Lopes is a fantastic option, real talent. Much more threatening than Navas, and i like Navas really.

Garcia is majestic and will probs find himself on the bench every now and then. Why hold back a player that's developing that insanely quickly? Maffeo and Angelino will be ready next season.

Interesting thought that might actually happen, yet Nasri will surely feature, but does formation matter?

Seems likely for the opening match to be 433 or 4231. If we go 4231 Nacho sits I'd think, but if we go 433, maybe he gets a chance. I don't think Navas sits as a wide midfielder, but if we try 3 forwards, then he very well may with he down the middle with Silva and Sterling on his flanks. Something tells me Pellers will take the chance and go 433, and put Nasri as a midfielder, but what do I know?

Not to call folks out here, but when I suggested we could go 433 as soon as we signed Sterling thoughts were that I was a crazy man...

not been able to watch any of these preseason matches due to the timing of them but from all of the highlights on the OS Nacho looks good. like others have said, i wouldn't mind him playing a big part vs the Baggies.

shame that i can't see any of Denayer on the highlights but i guess ill have to take everyone else's word about him.
guess it'll be cup matches when i get to finally watch him play.

Garcia IMO is ready right now. I mentioned it in the match thread that I was watching a player ready for 1st team duties, only to have him then blaze two shots wide. Curse of slim's praise aside I think he looked very much a 1st team player albeit against very poor opposition. He doesn't carry himself like an academy kid trying to impress, he's more like a wonder kid we've just signed for £6m+addons from the championship.

Good call Slim.

Paradoxically, he could well look even better against better opposition as there would be more incentive for him.

OK Pelligrini is gone at the end of the season no matter what happens. So does he risk his reputation and last season blooding and regularly playing kids for someone else, not so sure about that. With the exception of maybe 1 or 2 he sees them as the future, i.e. somebody else's future.

Is it set in concrete that Pellegrini will be going at the end of the season ??

If he were to win the League again and have a decent run in the CL, who knows what might prevail.

I think folks are assuming since Pep and The Counts contracts end next summer that Pep is nailed on for City. I don't feel that way. Sure it could happen. Seems very logical even. But it's just too simple for me.

Nothing in football is set in concrete. I think its very likely that Pellegrini will see out his contract and head back to Chile. Leaving the way for Pep to step into the breech. Thats the way it seems at the moment, is there any talk of a contract extension for a 'wanted' manager entering his last campaign.

I hope there is an offer and he takes us up on it.

The logic however follows that Pep is coming, I'm not sure what assurances have been given to French Pat, but I'm sure he would like to think he's in the frame for the job as well. Maybe a role as Pep's 2nd for a couple of seasons?

So how does it work with Humphreys not being able to sign a professional contract until he turns 18 (Or, that process in general)?
Can some other club come in and snap him up from under our noses for nothing? Sounds like a few clubs want to sign him

I would like to see Ronnie Lopez replace Navas on the right wing. He's dangerous, got great pace and drive, can cross effectively and score goals......I think he would be a major threat. The downside to that is Navas helps out tremendously on his defensive duties

Lower Championship or upper League one is possibly his level. Spoke with Notts County's chief scout the other day and he had heard reports that he had a poor attitude at MK Dons, with a bit of an 'I am' way about him which didn't endear him to the management there.

He also said he had tried to get Brandon Barker on loan and the offer was politely declined

I should hope he did get knocked back for Barker - he'd learn nothing in league two other than getting some games under his belt against adults. He needs to be at a Championship side that plays decent football and in with a good chance of a run of games - if Uwe needs him Leeds would be ideal.

He turns 17 in a couple of weeks at which point he will sign pro terms for City.
