Assume interest in Pedro is purely circumstantial so as to try and make rags pay more. Can't imagine he fits the player outline we've been led to believe is our blueprint. Good player, but not a world beater and at 28 isn't going to be

SkySports reporting that Balague has said we've made an official offer for Pedro - slightly more than the rags and it will now come down to us and them for Peds. I'm guessing if true that means we've given up on KDB

and yet somehow this fucking cunt has hauled in dozens, literally, of trophies. Go figure!

It's not all about world beaters. It's about a team. And truth be told given his sub rep at Barca he doesn't have nearly the minutes that most 28 year olds would have on those wheels.

i'd have him. Gladly. Two footed winger/forward with pace and a complete winner? Yes please. Imagine the ability to use him and Dave and Sterling together? With whomever is up top. Pretty formidable esp. given we've also got Nasri and Navas and Lopes, Fernando, Zucchini as cover.

If we got Pedro tho do we need to get shut of another foreign player? I can't keep the fuck up.

cheers

I don't get the doesn't "fit our blueprint" line ... i'm with Doomie, I would have pedro in a heartbeat. Extremely talented, experienced, professional player. KDB is the hotter commodity at the moment, and has youth and bags of potential, no doubt ... Pedro is a Nasri or higher skill level player who applies himself consistently and has been successful at the highest level.

Slotting Pedro in for Nasri or Navas is a complete upgrade and something that would blow our rivals out of the water.

Allgedly we have met the release clause (In the Summer Transfer thread via city64/SSN)

Talk about nicking a player right under our arch rivals nose! lol

Would seem to allow us to even easier go 433 with he (he's also used to the system from Barca) and Sterling out wide, and Kun up the middle, no?

Guess we decided to pass on KDB. Will that prove to be a mistake? His crossing and corner taking might be missed, despite us already scoring from one this season we all know how it went last year.

EDIT: One thing I understand about Pedro is that he is a very good team player who doesn't need to score goals to be effective. Certainly noticing a trend in our targets since bringing in Bony...

Strong teamwork and high work rate oriented players.

Not much of an upgrade on Navas, there's a reason he could never nail down a starting berth at Barca and why they spent millions buying players to play in the position he plays.

Kind of hard to nail down a starting spot against Barca's big 3. That's not exactly an insult.

He's not Navas because he actually knows how to put the ball in the back of the net, and likes to take opponents on more than Jesus has shown us despite the pace he possesses.

It would not be a world beating signing, but would add depth and allow for a better transition to using a 433.

ha ha, I expect a snub because we have no history (also means we made the rags bid more than they wanted)

He's not that much better than Navas is the point I was making, I accept he's better but not that much of an improvement that I'd bin Navas off for him.

Since Pedro broke into Barca's squad they've bought Henry, Villa, Sanchez and Neymar instead of having faith in him, that speaks volumes imo.

It could be Nasri that's being binned off - he was used out of position in preseason and only got an appearance as a sub in our first game. I know nothing about Pedro or how he plays so I can't comment on him personally though.

Fair point. Again, I'd rather KDB and to futz about a few million is curious, but seems Wolfsburg are also being rather coy about the asking price, and in responding to our latest offer, allegedly.

It would be funny. Possibly the wrong signing but for all the right reasons. He is no mug but I'd prefer KDB. There has been silence on any action on Reus this window as well, is this a complete non starter?

Having said that, just bring associated with him is making plenty of rags squirm which can only be a good thing
