I've read a handful of things online predicting that the atmosphere will be bad. im curious why that is...

I haven't watched the match yet as it hasn't kicked off but I thought Nasri had a poor game.

A hat trick of perfect timed free kicks from Kolarov was a joy to watch!, especially the one he scored from the edge of our own box.

Shame Nasri didn't get off the bench.

It would have been a different game completely if he hadn't let the Sweep lookalike steal his boots during the warmup

I do think our fans come into CL with that attitude for good reason so there is a risk today of atmosphere dying if we fall behind early, start to feel the ref is a cheat, do not look like we will score, or miss too many clear chances.

On the tele, at least, it also seems to me some of our fans get frustrated fairly quickly when we are not creating chances as we believe our squad should or the team does not show intensity on the pitch.

You could hear the frustration over the TV a bit it in the Watford match, as the songs and atmosphere seemed to dissipate after 30 minutes or so of failing to score when we perhaps thought we should have. The tempo of the game was also slower than the first few matches so perhaps that bothered some as well.

Hopefully the players come out strong, which I expect them to, as our fans do have good reason to feel some frustration given the way we feel treated by UEFA, the quality of the squad we have, and what we are capable of.

An early goal would be a massive boost to the fans and players, but we must be careful to not concede early or immediately after if we do manage to get one early.

I'm curious too. Why you've read these things online predicting the atmosphere will be shit.
Start reading something else. I've never been on your case Phips, but when you load a question like that I can see why you get so much grief.

For good reason many of us have a bad taste in the mouth from anything UEFA. Not only that but the rags used to bang on about it so much it will take some years for full enthusiasm to kick in

His third goal was just a tap in but overall he was probably man of the match...again.

Champions League anthem has been booed the last 3 home games in Europe - v CSKA, v Bayern and v Barcelona. I would presume the same will happen again tonight.

Ground capacity will be about a 1000 or so lower than normal as usual for Europe because of the advertising boards etc etc. Happens at every ground. In terms of the attendance, really doesn't matter too much if it sells out or not. If the gate of 48,49,000 plus what does it matter if it isn't 53,000 capacity.

By far the hardest adjustment moving to Canada has been working during these evening kickoffs (and no, I'm not forgetting the -40 winter temperatures in Ottawa). Going to try to avoid the result completely until 8pm/1am when I can watch the recording.

I wonder whether those in Australia/East Asia can confirm what Mase said about Nasri, having already seen the game?

Well, being only 15 minutes to kick off in Dubai, I can confirm that Ian Nacho starts up front

Very good point. Our CL gates increase year on year, that's all that's needed
