DONT WORRY - PEP IS COMING AND HE WILL KICK ASS!

Pep Guardiola is ahead of his time, says Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso
Pep Guardiola is on course to add to impressive trophy-haul this season
Bayern Munich set to clinch third consecutive Bundesliga title under Pep
Spaniard will become Manchester City manager at the end of the campaign
Midfielder Xabi Alonso says the former Barcelona manager is ahead of time
By NICHOLAS GODDEN FOR MAILONLINE
PUBLISHED: 09:33 GMT, 24 March 2016 | UPDATED: 11:55 GMT, 24 March 2016

Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso has hailed the managerial style of Pep Guardiola, insisting the Spaniard is 'ahead of his time'.
The former Barcelona boss, who will join Manchester City this summer, is on course to add to his burgeoning trophy-haul this season as Bayern close in on their third straight Bundesliga title under Guardiola.
The German giants are also in the semi-finals of the domestic cup while Guardiola masterminded a stunning late comeback to defeat Juventus in the Champions League round of 16 to win in extra-time.

GUARDIOLA'S MANAGERIAL RECORD:
Barcelona B (2007-08):
P42 W28 D9 L5 W%66.67
Barcelona (2008-12):
P247 W179 D47 L21 W%72.47
Bayern Munich (2013-):
P146 W110 D18 L18 W%75.34
OVERALL: P435 W317 D74 L44 W%72.87

Under Guardiola, Bayern have become a side that dominate the ball, much like his successful Barcelona team, with the Bavarians averaging 63 per cent possession in the German top flight this season.
And Guardiola's compatriot Alonso believes he is a pioneer in terms of his tactical style.
'It might sound easy but I tell you, it is not easy because you know Pep is really ahead of his time. He is very demanding of himself and his players,' Alonso told Goal.
'But once you get to know it, I think that for myself it is the way we like to play. We like to play with control, and he likes that.
Bayern midfielder Xabi Alonso, signed by Guardiola in 2014, says his manager is 'ahead of his time'

'He likes the team to be in control of the game, because he thinks it is the best way to win games. When you have the control, normally you have more chances and give up less chances.
'I don't think that we are going to change [the risky style]. We have a pretty clear idea of how we have been playing for the last few years.
'Win or lose, we will stick with the same idea because that's how we feel that we are doing well. And of course it's Bayern, so when results are not as good as expected there will be critics, but you need to deal with that.'

Hurry up!!

The league IS the season for me, so when it suffers I want to comment on it without people trying to insinuate I'm a spoiled brat. I'd say people who overlook poor league performance for the gloss of a cup might want to look at themselves a bit closer.

Yes we have won a trophy and we are in quarter finals of Champs league , a great achievement I agree I have been a blue since 1968 so have witnessed the good and the shit times . What I am saying is the performances of late should be a lot better than what we are getting and it is giving the media who hate us all the ammunition they need to slate us .

Well said Bear. Things ain't right but we've been worse and we certainly should be better right now. The tide will turn if not this season then for sure next.

We are all happy to win the League Cup and be in the 1/4 finals of the Champs league. But the "week in, week out" league performances suggest we have no chance in the Champs league and little chance of finishing 4th. It's been the most unconvincing season for some time including last season. This season we have delivered regression and a clear need to change the manager and massively improve our recruitment.

After a wonderful start, we've been fairly gash. If you had a choice of leagues/cups to win, for me, it would be the PL & FA Cup, not the Milk Cup or Chumps league.

However, I'm no snob and the fact we won the latter, and got further than we have before in what many perceive as the ultimate, is testament to what our custodians are after.

Apologies that you took it as an insinuation, I thought I'd been clearer than that.

I'll try to be more blunt then.

I don't have any issue with proportionate criticisms just with entitled children ridiculously exaggerating those criticisms while throwing tantrums. I hope that helps.

Not aimed at anyone this. We have had our belly tickled by pretty much every team that matters this season. I like to think I am fair, I also attend games home and away. If some want to excuse the players fine. Me I know what I see and I watch different levels of football to be honest, I see lazy cunts on another page to our owners,I see it every time they are asked to put a shift in, I see fuck all to be happy with if you are judging the league season. Under achieving piss takers, with CC as some sort of come back excuse. The manager the players work on what or week, cos looks of the cuf crap when the whistle goes. We should have had at least 4 Premier titles, we don't as the players lack the work ethic to do that, Pep I hope can change the holiday camp mentality.

So , In your fuckign pathetic opinion , we shouldnt throw our toys out of the cot over the way we have played throughout the season? ,we should instead be thankful we arent playing the likes of macclesfield and have no justification whatsoever to say it how it is ? FYI - the reason we go on and on and on about it is because we continue playing shite week after week.

(Im not going to go over the embarrassing stats, as they have been highlighted numerous times)

I tell you what ,you carry on wanking yourself that we won the Mickey Mouse cup and are in the QF of the CL....once we are out of the CL (and we will be ) you can then harp on about us winning the LC and what a succesful season it has been and you can go dance at the end of your fuckign garden looking for fairies.

The rest of us will stay in the real world and say it how it is.

Ive followed City since 1975 so in 40 years we've won 3 league cups, 2 league titles and an F A cup. I'm as disappointed as any with our league performance this season and after the start we made I thought we were the team to beat. I take comfort from the fact that the other teams who have regularly competed for trophies are in as bad a state if not worse than we are hence the fact Leicester and Spuds are the teams fighting it out for the title. I'll stick my neck out and say that neither of these will be consistently top 2 over the next five years like we have been. At the first sign of the wheels coming off their star players will jump ship and they'll slink back into mid table.

We've made a statement of intent with Guardiola and I have no doubt that he'll already have the wheels in motion over signings. When we get our shit together we'll be the team to beat again, until then if a shit season is one where we still end up with a pot I'll take it. I've seen enough shit seasons without silverware thanks.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

The real world is where we've won 5 trophies including 2 titles in 5 seasons.

The real world is where, despite atrocious decisions and terrible luck with injuries we are still in the top 4.

The real world is where we can be a bit disappointed things haven't gone our way for a third title in 5 years.

The real world is NOT where we are a) "a laughing stock" or b) "having the worst season ever"

Grow the fuck up.

Reading through this thread. The one thing we see, is when we were shit. For fans like me and the lads I go with.
Being shit is fine, as long as the effort is there. What we have had this season, is plain to see, the Derby for me being a kick n the bollocks to far.
