We are where Bayern are Out, Ok we should have gone for it at 70 mins, fuck knows why we did not, that along with the season of what could have been sums up this Manager and squad. The change is here and timed well and lets look forward to our owner backing Pep and getting another crack.

9, as Agüero was running around in the defensive half of the pitch trying to get hold of the ball. He's not playing well at the moment, and probably hasn't since about two months back, but he gave it his best shot IMO.

But I agree, I thought they did look like they give a damn but they were just met by a better team. But I don't like how people paint a picture where we didn't stand a chance, as both the Real Madrid players and fans breathed a collective sigh of relief once the ref blew the whistle.

Sergio had to come back and try to get the ball as no one seemed to be able to pass it with any accuracy; loads of passes went straight to RM players or were too easily intercepted. This seems to have been happening more frequently lately. If we can't maintain possession we're not going to get any chances.

Is it simply that 'modern day footballers' don't care as much?
I know it's an easy cliche to throw out there, but if I was playing in a semi final I'd have died trying.

are you counting by twos?

i can't even really get to 4 who seemed to give a coupla fucks.

Embarrassed by last night honestly. And sad for fans who shelled out and made the historic trek to watch that shower. Fucking irresponsible as fuck from these turds. And it starts for me with the Count allowing this laisse faire horseshit for the last 3-4 months without a major shakeup. And constantly throwing Vinnie back in like some assclown. Fucked up shit. A major depressive campaign, and that's with a minor trophy in the cabinet. And that's just fact, and not spoiled brat gloryhunting bullshit. This team should have delivered a shit ton more than they have.

I'll be glad to see the back of Vinnie, and Yaya. End of an era. The former it's quite sad and the latter has destroyed a brilliant legacy for me with his bollox since the last title...both in the media and on the pitch. A fat gutless cunt last night.

Shockingly....we were missing a striker the Count should have bought instead of that piece of shit Bony.

And Sterling did more in roughly 2-3 touches than any of our forward players all night. How fucked is that?

I'm going to be riled up for a while. Fuck football.

cheers

I can't. You're right. They all left it out on the pitch and had their grind on.

If you couldn't see that 75% of them were clearly not up for it then you were watching a vastly different match than I.

Are you trying to split hairs between just an off night/a poor display and a concerted lack of effort? Because I wouldn't even buy that argument tbh.

Anyway.

Cheers

The effort was put in to contain them, to keep shape, track runs etc. by all but three players as far as I'm concerned.

I'm not trying to split hairs either, I just think it's unfair to accuse the majority of not trying their best.

Real are better than us, for us to compete we need every single player giving it their all, if even one doesn't we're asking for trouble.

I can see where you're coming from FIBD. I think it is very much the traditional spine of our team that have let us down this season. The guys who have been getting most stick this year for being not up to the standard required are not the people who have let us down last night, or in he first leg, or against PSG in my opinion.
There is a difference between not being good enough to do the task you are being forced to do and just not bothering your arse to put the work rate required into a game that really needs everyone putting in a shift.
That's what has happened far too often this year with a lot of our senior players. Add KDB to the mix last night as well. He is going to have to learn to graft when things aren't working out. When you don't have the whole team working as a unit with a plan you see a dysfunctional display where everyone looks lost. Bereft of any idea what they should be doing.

Roll on next season. New manager. New ideas. Because collectively, from the present manager down through the whole squad, they are all out of ideas at the moment.

when your winning games that creates positivity, and good team bonding, dropping players to rest them is bollox, play your best team then bring them off when the job is done,
southampton away was abysmal and then we rest players then see a performance like that wtf.
i for one will gladly see the back of pellegrini
