Pep wants a new centre half. Or maybe even two. Thus we will be getting a new centre half or two. Might as well go balls deep and get the best available at the moment
Yes, and there is no one else we can bring in that fits the need. He will surely be good enough for 2-3 seasons so we can figure out who to bring in next when that time comes. If Pep remains, that could very well be Laporte, or we will search out/monitor talent that has the potential to become suitable.
The money is really not that much of an issue right now.
