Vardy, Mane, Kane, Zlatan to name a few who play in a way your mate can't handle. Nothing like Sergio so different not better.

As I said in games where anyone on this board could play CB (Tuesday) he is an asset with his passing. Sadly he doesn't attack the ball at the right time when squared up or when against tough physical opponents. Pep does care though as he still thinks CB and goalies aren't that important. See Barca for proof of that. It was a stroll every week for Pique and Masherano (however you spell it).

Funny that, because he's made a few last ditch tackles to save us.

By quality who do you mean? Because he faces Aguero in training every day. Who is better?

Dude have your 15 minutes here but if he ends up being an actual CB on this squad at xmas I'll be shocked. But I'll be happily surprised and enjoy his success as much as anyone. Probably one of the genuine funniest footballers you'll find.

Cheers

Fair play to him if he becomes a good centre back. I started a thread raving about his performances at left back at the start of last season adn that did not pan out well. This time I'm gonna give him ten games before I start re-applying for membership in Mase's KOlarov club

Didn't pan out well for anyone apart from Serg and Fern 1 last season though. I don't think the manager helped anyone. Look at Sterling. Look at Stones under the Turkish fake Vans seller and under Pep.

I'm not saying that he was a stand out poor performer (except that game, you know which one) but simply that I selected him for individual praise and after those five games, he did nothing to deserve any more individual praise.

I don't even think Serg did much of note after he got back from his last injury. I was underwhelmed at least. Scored some goals, true, but against who and under which conditions. He used to be the player we could rely on when we were in a bind but not last season.

Ota is clearly Stones partner while Kompany is still awol. But he has some sort of sore tendon,

The point is that because Kola can play cb they don't need to buy the Italian fella.

True. If Serg can stay fit this season I'd like to see him destroying teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, the rags.
