None of the buggers offered to meet up and buy you a pint, miserable gits :o :o

Would have been happy to meet if I wasn't going to the game !

Don't think many of the branch will be in Chaplins its not a good place to watch a match, majority of the branch do travel to most games and I don't think they do meet normally for games on tv.

Sinnotts probably best situated of the ones mentioned in the link.
It would be convenient for Temple Bar and very lively between there and whereever you might be staying around there.

The Bleeding Horse is a good location too on Camden Street but a little further up for you.

Just checked the location and I am a total of 18 mins walk to Sinnotts from my hotel (according to google maps). Happy days, arrive at airport 1pm, check in to hotel around 1.30 -1.45 then off to Sinnotts in plenty of good time to watch the game.

Thank you for all your excellent advice and good info. Looking forward to 3 points, many more pints and a very expensive weekend!

Ah right, don't want to fuck with your plans but The Living Room that someone mentioned earlier in the thread is spitting distance from there.

The missus just came in and said the bro-in-law has recommended we go to the Living Room as its just as good? What dya reckon? final decision lies with me, but if its just as good and round the corner from the Hotel, its a winner.

The Living room is 30 seconds from the Gresham and they will definitely be showing the game. The clientele however leave a lot to be desired. Just make sure you get out before sunset and you should be right.

Not as nice an end of town, but spitting distance from the Gresham.
The Woolshed was mentioned also and that's a less than a ten minute walk from The Gresham.
WW mentioned the Theatre. If you are going to the Gaiety Theatre I'd definitely wander up to Sinnots instead, if you had the time.
It's just across the road.

Think it's the Bord Gais theatre down on the canal IWT.

The Living Room seems to be the bar of choice for our Polish/Eastern European community but that's usually later in the evening.

You'd need your wits about you a bit more than you would in Sinnotts but at the time you're going there shouldn't be any issues.

Oh and you're on the best side of the city mate, don't let them southsiders tell you differently.

yes it's the Bord Gais theatre. I will head to the Living room for the 1st half and if I don't like it I will head to Sinnotts for the second half. As for clientele don't worry, i was dragged up in edgeley. they teach streetwise there as no1 on the curriculum. although I have gone soft down the years.

Cheers fellas

Northsider myself. Couple of decent bars off O'Connell Street. I wouldn't advise him stray beyond that into Marlboro territory though. God knows what they'd meet.
