That Cup game was incredible, with an astonishing outcome.

If ever there was an archetypal "typical City" episode, then that's it.

That's the game Hansen called the greatest he'd ever seen wasn't it? Maybe a bit tongue in cheek but it was truly astonishing.

My finest memories would be:

1 - Tueart's overhead
2 - THAT goal from Serge to take the title
3 - '81 Cup Final heartache, barely able to watch
4 - The standard of football that we have played on occasion in recent years. There have been times when our play has been up with the absolute best there has ever been. No if's, no buts.

I can't remember who scored for City.
I'm 55 and live in Swansea now and still have the same passion and love for my club. If we don't win the league this season I won't be too upset unless Liverpool or United win it. I despise the media bias towards them which was never more evident when they thought they'd won it a couple of years ago... .

You couldn't have spoken a truer word (or, rather in this case, words).

I was very young in 1955 when the Cup Final was being played. Every one had been invited round to a neighbour's house to watch it (they were the only ones in the street with a TV) and, although City went down to 10 men after 19 minutes, when right back Jimmy Meadows was taken off injured (in those days there were no substitutes), all our neighbour's were still rooting for Newcastle.

They were all praising the way the Geordies were performing but my Dad said at one point "but that German goalie is playing really well". After that, I specifically watched our 'Bert' in action and although City ran out losers 3-1, he was my hero from that day on and I was well and truly 'hooked'.

I've never broken free since...............or even wanted to.

...and isn't it great, what a journey we are on !

Watched the game in my mates bar in Marbella.
Me watching us on one screen, the rest of the bar watching rags on the other.
I was really annoying, kept asking "have they scored yet?"
A Burnley goal would have been the icing on the cake.
Would have gone into a very loud "Never felt more like singin the blues"

I absolutely adore the club.

My favourite memory is...I've got a couple!

1. My dad taking me to my first ever game. I was around about 8ish, we parked on the field for what I assume was a school opposite the shop that sold the printed tees on the corner at Maine Road. I was hooked when I saw all the City shirts everywhere! There and then I was sold on the club.

2. All the Junior Blues meetings on Sundays growing up. They were class.

3. Gillingham. For me this is more of a favourite memory than anything recently. We were shite. I thought I'd never see us win anything and even though it was only the Division 2 Play-Offs it meant the world to me! Everyone stuck together and we all got ourselves out of the mess we were in. Brilliant!

So why do you love the boys in blue?

3's a few you fucking spaz.

Great contribution to the thread. Glass half full? You don't even have a fucking glass

My first game was at Maine road in 1995 against a Middlesbrough side with Juninho. We lost 1-0 but it didn't matter. As soon as I walked into the stand I was hooked - no drug in the world could ever do that to me
