We have so many very talented young players it's hard to do them all justice in match reports on here. Foden is a very slight build and if I had to liken him to any player it would be Silva. Absolute delight to watch him play. Sees passes and can make them and has the extra on Silva in that he scores goals. Got the equaliser at the swamp on Saturday for the 18's.

Regular for England at his age group and stars for them too. Of all the lads who might make it he is up there but he is just 16! Extra extra bonus is that he's a City fan.

Very good, one to watch for the future.

Edited for completion.

Phil Foden is 'only' 1.67m (5' 6½") tall - these cms and half inches are important! Given the British game's preference for giant players (Scotland excepted, obviously) and a certain Portugeezer's preference for big men as well, how unusual is it to have such a small player 'contending' for PL games? Has there been anyone smaller playing in the PL or, for that matter, the old Division One?

Aaron lennon for sure and I guess that guy at Bournemouth too cant recall the name.

anyway, as an almost 7'' bag of former pure footballing shite, may I say I couldn't care less of footballers height?
call me in the disgraceful event we'll appoint Pulis or Moan, though.

Also Paul Scholes at 1.68m.

I conclude that Foden has a great future ahead of him!

Cazorla
Pizarro
Zola

SWP, Lennon, Cazorla, Britton & Dyer all the shortest so far at 1.65m or 5' 5".

Diego Armando Maradona. 1.65m.
But would he have hacked it on a rainy Wednesday night in Stoke?

made a little research on the Bournemouth roster and found the bloke i meant: Ryan Fraser, Scotland int.nal winger, 1.63 cm.

Anyway, back on topic, irrespectivelly of any anthropometric bollox, there is no doubt in my mind, that Phil Foden is gonna be the first (next if am mistaken) Mancunian to be consistent part of a CL winning side in the not distant future.

what about a reversal: would Goikoetxea have made it in a Pulis Stoke?

He doesn't play in this country but there's a Polish player called Garuch who is only just over 5 foot tall.
