I think you're wrong, I do think we are food enough for top 4, by a way. I also think we are good enough for the league, it's only that we now miss a couple of key players that we worry about it.

Think about that, we now worry about not qualifying, not fighting for fourth.

Our club will not stand still, even though Pep would. He's now forcing the issue, and rightly so, to prove that his way cannot carry passengers; if you want the current best manager in the world, you have to work hard to support him.

I just wonder if a number of players know they don't fit the Pep system and are due to be shipped out and, on that basis, have given up already ??

Those first ten games at the start of the season, now seem a lifetime away.

We should be able to miss a couple of key players and get a result. That performance was garbage and a hammering like tha has been coming for some time.

We might have to grit our teeth; results like today might start to become a little more commonplace.

I don't think so mate, we always have to prove, as per Guardiola's own post-match comments. He wants to show, outwardly anyway, that we are improving but we al know that it's different.

As a manager you accept the players you've got and get the best out of them. When we get to a situation like this you have to say that you cannot manage/direct/inspire the players you've got, so it could be a case of spoilt brat to prove and move forward.

I'm assuming Pep was supported with the signings of Stones, Nolito, Sane, Gundo and Bravo. I'm not sure about those signing Beefy. I'm also not convinced at all by the way he sets the team up.

sorry Beefy, there are better ways to shape the squad than the shambles we are currently witnessing with his selection and tactics. He doesn't need to force anything, the Spafia will provide him with the players he wants without these humiliations. It's self-serving arrogance.

In response to the thread subject, no it's not the end of the challenge as there are loads of points to play for. Bit if we continue to play like this then it's only a matter of time. A huge reality check tonight some very strange calls by the manager who has to learn from this and quickly.

I'm not sure it is a reality check. Most people on here expected us to lose before kick off if u look at the game thread. We have won 4 of the last 15. We are not good enough. We are not good enough because those in power are not good enough to bring the right players etc in. Be under no illusion....this will not get better soon.

Well if not a reality check it certainly needs to be a wake up call before the points position becomes irretrievable.

I'd take your arm off for third at the moment and I'd probably take fourth. Maybe we'll click again and we can get on a roll, but looks like the rest of the year could be tough.

Hopefully Jesus can save us

We won't win anything with this shambles of a defence. My main concern is not with the manager but with why we didn't address these glaringly obvious frailties in last summer's transfer window.

Let's hope he can play CB and GK then as that's what we need asap.

That's how I feel. Not been mid-December and wishing the season to end. All very underwhelming and can see us being out of top four at end of this month.

We have a rotten goalkeeper who has infected the defence, which has now infected the confidence the rest of the team. Guardiola is too arrogant to tackle the core problem so, yes, it is the end of our title challenge and - because of the form of the other title challengers - quite possibly, oh irony of ironies, CL football for Guardiola next season.

If Spurs beat the rags today we are out of the top 4 and it will be hard to get back in it the way we are playing.
