Do we not want what's best for City then?

0-0 with several red cards all the way.

I think the overall consensus TB, is that our destiny is in our own hands.

If we turn over both of these sides in our individual encounters with them, then the result of the Scum v Spuds game is immaterial.

On that basis, since we all want the Scum to implode, a Spuds victory would be desirable in so many ways.

0-0 with a player brawl resulting in multiple red cards for both teams - and The Moaning One to get a stadium ban for post-match interview.
If Carling did match days...

Definitely a Spurs win - we win all our remaining matches we win the league - quite simple really and we can afford the odd draw.

Hope for a 0-0 bore draw as Jose loves to serve up in the big game with a big bust up in the centre of the park with 5 players from each side sent off and all missing 3 games each.

Yep. Though 6 game bans would be preferable. A bit of afters in the stands as well so the rags have to then play five games behind closed doors would be a bonus, (I know it would never happen but we can but dream!)

But in all seriousness, do we consider the rags or spuds as our most likely title challengers? Though spuds are the better side, I think the Wembley thing coupled with CL progress will take it's toll. The rags are not as slick as spuds, but will get help along the way. They will also have no hesitation in parking the bus when they like. I know they had a shocker on Saturday but they have still had ten clean sheets in thirteen games so far. Sadly, I think they will be our closest challengers.

So a defeat for them will be very sweet. As they all are to be honest

The timing is the interesting bit for me... rags are vulnerable just now, their fans know it too.

Defeat by the spuds would knock their confidence and they might go on a bit of a slide.

Spuds are our most likely title challengers but I think we have enough to outrun them as they have a thinner squad and are very reliant upon Kane. They are on a very tight budget with their new stadium having to be paid for and there is the possibility of RM, et al swooping for Kane, Podge, Deli Ali, Erikson, et al before the start of next season.

United are flattering to deceive against the poor opposition they have so far had to face. 5th to 7th place for them and out of the CL money and tied to the Europa League schedule would suit, particularly if Mourinho can hang on to ruin another season for them.

I don't ever want the rags to even win the fuckin coin toss before a game. So Spuds for me.

That seems a quite reasonable perspective to opt for gillie.

I like your style.

I love the sound of the Eastlands tannoy playing "I've never felt more like singing the blues" as we make our way to the exit, like on Saturday. I can't get enough of it. I enjoyed winding up several rag "supporters" by telling them that if we'd only beaten them by 2-1 instead of 6-1 then they'd have won the league in 2012. But as that was a long time ago, I'm happy enough just to give the knobheads a bit of a serve every time they lose. As I live not far from Guildford, God knows there's enough of the buggers in the vicinity.

If we nick the championship by a couple of points, I'd prefer not to hear some rag at the end of this season tell me that if they hadn't beaten the spuds then Tottenham would be champions instead of us. I begrudge them even that little whine.

All in all, and taking into consideration all the well made points in previous posts above, my head, my heart and my bollocks are all in favour of a win for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Best for City is a draw, don't want either getting the confidence from beating the other.
