utd start and end with a home game, and get hudderfield and bournemouth at home before an away trip to newcastle over xmas.

yeah seems fair, no influence at all.

We are first game for Emery - I suppose he has the consolation it is at home and all the other home games will be easier!

I'm hoping to get to Bournemouth and Brighton this year, the only PL grounds I have yet to visit (been to all the promoted clubs). Bournemouth looks okay but could be struggling for a ticket for Brighton if there is anything on that game.

OT - can't remember the last time two of the big teams met on the opening day. Did they get rid of that old system where they used to be kept apart?

We shouldn't fear anyone home or away. I believe we'll turn the arseholes over. We have a solid nucleus and know how to win mentality. Worst case scenario we'll come away with a draw, first few games tend to be cagey until we build momentum. For the record Emery has never beaten Pep.

However on the flip side, they home first and last game, they arer home both games between Xmas and new year and have a piss easy run in on paper.

but we all know ( maybe Sky don't ) that the worst time to face a newly promoted side is very early in the season when they are full of belief and running.

Away to the mid table also rans in the first game, it could be a lot worse.
Overall the fixtures aren't too bad.

No matter what way they are drawn there would be always something for some to complain about.

the schedule through October is generally favorable. not sure what the CL schedule is around the Liverpool & Spurs matches in October but it still looks good.

Soton away 2 days before Liverpool home on NYD isnt a horrible matchup if the Saints are anything like they were last season...although if i remember correctly they did make it difficult for us.
