United have a good chance of securing 5th.

Not sure about the rags though.

Yep, and what is pissing me off is the BBC commentators saying 5th is a champions league position due to our ban.

I'm pretty confident about this one. Pride and bragging rights at stake, which are important of course, but fuck all else.

We ain't winning the league, but I'd say we've got second place wrapped up.

Less than 24 hours away and even though it doesn’t have any consequence in the scheme of our position in the PL, this game is always a biggy and one of the 2 fixtures I look out for when the new season comes out. Never fail to feel the butterflies and suddenly get the urge to swing at and kick anything red.

We can do the rest of the PL a favour tomorrow by beating the Rags or, at least not losing. Wolves, Shef Utd and Chelsea currently sit above them vying for the top 4 trophy and I’d love to see one of the former 2 getting it, giving hope to the rest of the league.

Obviously I’m not saying this for selfish reasons, not that I’d like to see the Rags being bummed for the rest of the season, and beyond, but it would be awfully nice to see them fail, at least in this instance.

Only a win is good enough for those rags, so am hoping for open game, which I think we will win, well hopefully

What are your thoughts of the media narrative that fifth is a champions league spot, Keown on final score and five live constantly refer to this, it’s a given we are banned according to the media.

Keown is easily the thickest pundit around. He’s an absolute ape. I think he had one decent season - imagine him playing now, he’d be skinned alive.

Oh come now Mase, you know Mickey Owen wins that ‘award’. And Garth Crooks is easily worse. Not to say Keown is bright, far from it, but there are many more worse ones than him

Both bad pundits. But I think Keown is genuinely thick as shit.

He once said “Brazil are totally reliant on one player – Neymar and Silva.”

I have many thoughts on this but none are proof of what’s going on. The reality is that Keown is right at this moment in time as UEFA have found us guilty. Lots has been said about from fans to the contrary but until the irrefutable evidence has been brought forward, nobody knows.

Without going into detail, which is mainly subjective, it very much seems that the cartel have forced the issue as they need to control the funding to certain clubs. The administrators are, again, trying to manage a no-win situation and with a bloke at the top of UEFA also having a conflict of interests it makes the situation even worse.

To tell my thoughts I’d have to go back over ten years. Nobody likes a long post ;-)

Ps. Fuck off, Scum!

Woohaaaa heard some absolute imbiclie of a pundit saying we would rest players because we were playing Real Madrid midweek. I kid you not, these people actually get paid for this..

Absolute goons the lot of them. Woke up to the headline that Sergio will be allowed to leave early if we dont overturn the ban - you'd think there was a derby soon....
Be interested to see how we line up today but i think Sergio will start . Getting an early breakfast and then off to meet the boys for our trip to ordsall quays

No it’s not. Literally a story the other day to say that until CAS make their decision City can ask to be allowed to play in next season Champions League, and it would likely have to be granted.

I’ve not heard or seen an official “this season 5th is a Champions League place” anywhere, unless I’m missing something?

You know you're not. There are going to be a lot of upset bunnies when we are still playing in the chumps league next season. Imagine trying to ban the holders.........

I’m getting a little worried. Just been on the Beeb and they haven’t got a single story about Rags on the front page.

Just wondering, given the priority of this game (none), and knowing we have 4 games in the space of 9 days, do we think that we should be protecting our key players for the CL 2nd leg?
