Not sure how many of you watched the draw, but when the scum were drawn their were 2 groups left C and H. They said they could only go into group H, but never explained why. We were the only other team left to be drawn. Apparently there is another UEFA rule that certain teams can't play on the same night because of TV (Bayern/Dortmund, Real/Barca and scum/Liverpool) Since Liverpool were drawn to group D, the scum couldn't get group C, so they automatically went into group H.

What i couldn't work out was when a team could only go in X amount of groups, matey rocked with the bowl with the right amount of balls e.g. C, E, G & H, how the fuck did he know which 4 balls to to put in the bowl????

Cos the draw is as fixed as the games. Sports entertainment and nothing more.

Pretty easy draw, not that matters too much. We all know what happens now. We will coast through the group playing a regular 433. Then get to a quarter final and Peps brain goes onto overdrive, he plays some form of a hybrid 073 formation that the players could never figure.
And we go out to the mighty Dynamo Zagreb or someone like that.

Spot on.

It's difficult to be excited about the draw knowing that is exactly what will happen.

Didn't think it warranted it's own thread so I will stick this here....

Where's this from Hants? I was under the impression that Delap doesn't qualify for B list as it requires you to be at the club for over two years

Why Foden isn't in main Champions League squad
Phil Foden is not in the main 21-man squad for the Champions League, but he will still be available to play in the group stage.

With the main List A needing eight homegrown players - including four at City - then including Foden in that list would take up one of those eight spots.

Instead, there is no limit to under-21 players with two years of homegrown training, so Foden and Eric Garcia are better used on that 'List B'.

That also means youngsters like Tommy Doyle, Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Liam Delap and Adrian Bernabe will also be able to play if required.

Cheers, he has that wrong on Delap, he has to be included as a 'foreign spot' on list A to be eligible to play.

Can't he be considered 'Association trained'?

Think you need 3 years on pro terms before the age of 21 to be association trained. Even if he had that he'd still need to be on list A.

I agree he needs to be on List A, but I think it's the other way round: people over 21 need to have spent 3 years at a club within the association before they turn 21, while people under 21 also need to have spent 3 years between 15 and 21 or all time after the age of 15 (i.e. if they're under 18 and therefore can't meet the 3-year minimum).

From the OS, this might help....

The deadline for our List B submission is 11.00pm on Tuesday 20th October.

UEFA rules state that the List A is made up of a maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. There are a minimum of eight places reserved exclusively for 'locally trained players'. If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 1999 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday (players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years).

Further 8 players added to UCL squad,........

Foden and Garcia have been confirmed as B List players, along with goalkeeper James Trafford, centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis, and midfielders Adrian Bernabe, Cole Palmer, Felix Nmecha, and Tommy Doyle.
