Has actually shown glimpses of good play in last few games (albeit with large doses of shitness) eg his runs forward in Leeds game.

I’m guessing the reason Pep is still playing him is cos he thinks he may come good on his potential. IMO his head is not in the right place some ridiculous decision making has shown.

Similar to Micah, he’s not a footballer. Micah was an athlete that relied on pace to get himself out of trouble. Mendy is just a blob that relies on teammates to get him out of trouble.

Pep is playing him because he has no other option

Of course he has an option.......he can put any other footballer in that position.

Of course he has an option.......he can put any other footballer in that position and he would be better.

Fixed that for you.

Thats right. He hammers in crossers without a taget, 1 of 100 he has to succeed, the "assist" last match = pure luck.

Going back to pre-lock down when he was actually putting in crosses to the box................. I swear he went on the pitch with an anvil in his left boot as 9 out of 10 crosses went sailing past the box to the right side of the pitch. In most cases the pitch side microphones picked up the thud of his heavy footedness

This is the thing , people actually think hes good at crosses when in reality hes fuckign shit at them...look at every fuckign pass forward this plank makes..he boots it to open space ,any open space, or he boots it to an opposing player.

Very rarely does he manage to pass to a player of ours that's more than 10 yards from him.

He brings zero both upfront & back front.
We genuinely are better in 10 men.

Bang average? You're being too kind there and too harsh on 'bang average' players

Omar Berrada said: "We believe that we have a top left-back, a specialist in Benjamin Mendy who unfortunately has had two serious injuries that have impacted his career with us so far but we believe that he is going to be a very important player.

The Man City substitution at Leeds that could point towards improvement
"Hopefully he will be injury-free this year and show his maximum potential.

Blaming how shite he’s been on injuries is pissing me off now. Getting pushed off the ball whilst trying to shield it out against Wolves is nothing to do with injuries. That fuck up against Chelsea between him and Gundo - nothing to do with injuries.
