Yeah great idea!

Exactly my thoughts. For people used to watching 3 games in an afternoon, it's going to be a case of shelling out £45, if these games are staggered to maximize viewing figures.

The other thing is, it's going to be more profitable for Sky/BT (assuming that's where the lion's share of the money goes - I haven't found a breakdown of this yet) to put games of the most-supported teams on pay-per-view. Get ready to see more Burnley v Southampton-type games selected for TV viewing in the next round of fixtures, with 'big' games all-of-a-sudden becoming PPV.

Spot on, both of you.

What an utterly shit idea this is. They are in danger of killing the goose that laid the golden egg.

I have mixed feelings on this.

I don’t like watching football on TV and rarely do so, I only really watch live and highlights on free TV. I have never subscribed to Sky as I do not like the brand, and not just because of it’s obvious bias against City or the way it screws up match times for those of us who attend games.

On the other hand, I would not expect to turn up at the Etihad, or the lower league grounds I go to in the quest for the 92, and get in for nothing, so the actual cost does not seem unreasonable.

Should be outlawed. This is not free competition.

They are already getting advertising money .

Close the fekkers down and let netflix run it without any bloody adverts -, if it is fee based .

Otherwise that useless fat lump in Downing street should revoke their broadcasting licences.

How much of the £14.95 are the clubs getting?

All of the PPV money goes to the clubs. Sky and BT are getting no extra revenue for these games.

Apparently Leicester were the only club to vote for season ticket holders not to have to pay.

Shame on you City

Will you count games you watch on the TV towards doing the 92? No, because it's not the same thing. Also, some clubs charge less than £15 for their matchday tickets. There's a difference between charging a price and charging this price.

£15 per game per TV set, at a time when households are supposed to maintain social distancing, is a recipe for disaster. If it were £3 or £4, I'd say it was fine.

Home games should be free to season ticket holders.

None season ticket holders and away games £3. That would be fair in my opinion

As mentioned this exorbitant price will encourage groups of people to club together to watch a game.

Good old anti social distancing...

City season ticket holders are paying nothing this season so are no different from other viewers really.

Was just going to make this point. I was refunded 1/19th of my season ticket cost for each home match that was behind closed doors last season and haven't been charged anything so far this season. That's saved me over £42 per ticket, £35 in fuel costs, £6 parking and at least £15 in food - that's almost £100 per game! So long as the clubs are getting ALL the extra income I can't see a problem with the cost. £15 to watch on tv against £40+ to attend in person allows for the reduced atmosphere imo.

It's only 74p cheaper for those on the £299 season tickets who walk to the game, though...

Season ticket holders who are committing to continue next season when fans are allowed back should get some benefit to their loyalty

Have you seen the view from those seats? May as well watch from home it they're close enough to walk
Still, as has been stated already, people can choose to pay and watch or give it a wide berth!

I don't think so. No one is committing to anything at this stage. Of course we will be back, but I don't expect freebies.

But they're also ramping up the detection of illegal streams.

This is a stupid miscalculation by the PL.
This and fiddling results via VAR.

Be interesting to see who they choose in the next round of games to be shown live on Sky/BT. If they elect not to show the ‘big games’ and instead price them on the PPV then it will be the beginning of the end of the big money for the PL.

Fans will simply not pay and walk away and without paying customers what then?

They wouldn’t be that stupid, would they.....
