3 -3 v Bournmouth, thought we'd blown it.
5-1 v scumbags, kicking rags down the kippax steps.
4-2 v wba 09 first time I brought my wife and kids to a game.

Have to mention fa cup v stoke and auguero moment v qpr for pure emotion. Not at either of these two games unfortunately. Cried like a baby after that fa cup win, finally!
Nearly had a heart attack after the Aguero goal, yeeeeessssssss!

Gillingham ? Not for me ! That era was utterly disgusting to be a city fan we should never ever have fallen to those levels . Massive respect to the people who changed that ,Joe Royle all the players and staff . It certainly taught us all a lesson and set the foundations for what we enjoy in this era , well most of us !

It was best games not era. There won’t be a more iconic or important game than that Gillingham one in our lifetime. We wouldn’t be where we are if it wasn’t for that day.

My memory might be muddled - but I heard that the deal Bernstein did for us to move to Eastlands after the Commonwealth Games was based on us getting promotion that year - without that it was not viable.

So - I always think that if we had not won that game then the Sheik would not have selected us, etc......

For that reason alone it was the best ever game for me - but I selected it for the pure excitement of being there - had a great time in the Green Man (I think it was that pub) afterwards

City 2 Newcastle 1. 1976 LC Final.
City 2 The Rags 0. 1979. My first Derby game.
City 1 Ipswich 0. 1981 FA Cup Semi. Incredible atmosphere.
City 5 The Rags 1. 1989. Unbelievable.
City 1 Stoke 0. 2011 FA Cup Final. What a day.
The Rags 1 City 6. Epic.
City 3 QPR 2. The game of the century.
City 2 West Ham 0. 2014 title game. Awesome.
City 3 Barcelona 1. 2016 CL. City were incredible.
City 1 Leicester 0. Vincent.

In no order other than the Aguero game, which stands out by a country mile.
After the ball was centred, after the whistle blew...

2 FA Cup Semi v the rags. The best of all my trips to Wembley, even better than the final for me. Atmosphere inside, outside from all Blues was fantastic.

3 rags at home 2012, 3rd last game of the season. Captain Fantastics header putting us top of the league. Atmosphere again fantastic.

I reckon you and me were the only ones left in the stands when Vinny scored that header against the rags.
Everyone else had fucked off for the HT refreshments.
I had a lot of space to go mental in.

So many in recent years, but here's some odd highlights from before maybe:

The win at Newcastle in 68 - I remember vaguely seeing it on the Big Match and getting very worked up at my 7 (and three quarters) years
The Tueart overhead kick final 1976 - had actually been on a school trip to Italy and we stayed overnight in a hotel in Chelsea on the way back. Just in time to see the highlights Sunday afternoon (Or was it the match? F****d if I know)
Last game at Maine Road v Chelsea (2-2?) (present)
Kinkladze's goal against Southampton (present) - imagine how often we would have that rammed down our necks if it was a RAG goal.
Jamie Pollock own goal (present) - probably not a highlight but definitely one of the best goals ever
The Gillingham game - how I screamed and danced around the room that day!
The 1-6 - having sat through 30 years of dross, boy did we enjoy that!
The Aguero game - dog terrified (different dog) even more than the Dickov game by drunken lunatics suddenly leaping up and shouting at full voice for some time
“I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.”

Most of the games have already been mentioned but I will throw some of mine in.

Aston Villa Away (April 1990) - First away win for a few years in the old First Division and stopped Villa in their tracks for winning the title. We needed the win to have any chance of staying up and we did it in style. Villa's fans behaving like utter c#nts after the match and only getting saved from a kicking by some kindhearted members of Birmingham City's Zulu Warriors on the way back to New Street station.

Monaco (February 2017) - Great atmosphere almost like Maine Road as the match had everything including the customary bent refereeing which was bad even by Oliver standards. It continued to swing one way then the other until we finally took a stranglehold on the match but alas it wasn't to be successful as we ultimately went out on away goals.

Hull City (August 1988) - First match of the season away at Boothferry Park and one of favourite seasons following City. We lost 1-0 but everything about the day was "typical" City back then as we did everything but score and then conceded the winner late on but well worth it as we clinched promotion at Bradford last game of the season.

Also an honourable mention for the Full Members Cup Final vs Chelsea.

Not the best memory but I’ll give it a go. In no order.

6-1 v them. No need to explain.
6-1 v Norwich. Aguero and Tevez looking like a partnership that would never really materialize but dazzled that day.
4-3 v Spurs FA cup. Watched that dvd to death.
2-1 v the scum on Munich anniversary. Sheer class.
1-0 v Stoke to bring home a cup and rip down the banner.
1-0 v the scum in the semi.
5-0 v Liverpool. Outclassed then by a mile that day.
2-1 v the scum a couple of seasons back. Only derby I ever saw live so special to me.
1-0 v Wigan in fa cup in 05 I think. First game I saw live since childhood.
6-1 v Southampton as I took both my kids and loved it.
Tracking back is overrated.

A long, long time ago, but worth it just to see the king score this one.
I was behind the goal, back in the days of no segregation.
it all got a bit hairy for a while.

All four goals with ten men as well!

And Anelka not fancying it at HT if I I remember??

Looks like he went off for Macken on 27th minute

Pretended he was injured.

Was it barton that was sent off?

Yes, I think that was for aggressive walking if I remember correctly. And after the HT whistle had already gone. Seems we weren't favourites of the refs even then! :|

Picking 10 is tricky, but easier than the original 3!!!

In no particular order

6-1 v rags, just a marvellous drubbing of them at their place
4-1 v dippers, put the hoodoo firmly to bed and hopefully is the catalyst for their decline
3-1 v Gillingham, without it who knows where we would be
3-2 v Sunderland in 91, meant we finished above the rags for the first time in years
4-3 v Spurs, just an unbelievable cup game with one of the all time great comebacks
5-1 v rags, just amazing scenes on the Kippax, a day I’ll never forget
2-1 v Middlesbrough in 83, my first game and it certainly made a lasting impression on me as all first games do
1-0 v Stoke FA cup final, first trophy in decades and the removal of that banner and gave us belief
3-2 v QPR, simply the greatest 5 minutes in football history and the most iconic goal of the PL era
6-0 v Watford, sealed the domestic treble in immense style. Plus I was lucky enough to be sat in club Wembley directly in front of the City boys not playing, Foden, Fern, Bravo and others!

Most of mine have been mentioned. 5-1, 1-6 v Rags. 4-3 v Spuds, I'll add the 5-1 when Dzeko scored 4 because I hate em. Qpr obviously. 81 semi v Ipswich (we got to a final for the first time in 5 years). 1-4 v Ipswich in the FA cup under Keegan when we were a division below. 3-1 v Watford in the LC again when we were the division below and Paul Lake was different class. The Adebayor Arsenal 4-2 win. First time the realisation hit me that we might be on to something and finally 10-1. That stays until we do it again.

Lots of epic games mentioned. Difficult to pick just 3!

I’ll also add in Hamburg at home in the UEFA Cup. The atmosphere was electric. Everyone in the entire stadium was standing for the whole game.

We were unfortunately let down by Mark Hughes. Everyone could see Dunne needed to be subbed as he was a red card waiting to happen. So Hughes kept him on and soon enough he received a red card.

Elano was having the game of his life and Hughes decided to take him off!

We won 2-1 and suffered a glorious exit. But it was a cracking game. Caicedo’s celebration was brilliant too.

Jeez, this is difficult.
1) Late 1950s...England Schoolboys v Germany Schoolboys & my 1st ever visit to Maine Road with my Dad. Got a lift from Wythenshawe in a Granelli's ice cream van. No memory whatsover of the game but Maine Road was awesome. Little did I know then that it would serve as my 2nd home for so long.

2) Again late 1950's,The traditional pre season game; City first IX v City reserves. 2nd tripto Maine Road, 1st to see City. Again I was overawed by the place.
Got through the turnstile, ran across the gravel behind the old Scoreboard End, up the banking for my 1st view of the pitch and the 1st thing I saw was Bert Trautmann warming up. That was the 1st time I had ever felt any bemotion for City. He still is my footballing hero.

3) 1978... Took my eldest to her City game. Was given free tickets by some bloke outside the ground. Seats were right next to the directors box.
After about 10 mins , 2 blokes came dopwn the line to sit in the 2 empty seats next to me. The 1st was Barry Betts an old City full back, I never looked at the other.
They sat down & told my 6yr old daughter who Betts was & looked over towards him, o crynly then to realise I was say next to Bert Trautmann. I was 29 and spent almost the whole game just staring at him. The man who had broken his neck and carried on playing in the 1956 Cup Final.

4) 1966...Last game of the season. City 2-2 Southampton, not just promotion but as Champions in Mercer/Allison's 1st season. The 1st time City had won anything (!956 Cup Win was all but forgotten, too young then to remember it properly). A cup presentaion, delayed by a mass pitch invasion,. "United here we come" was the shout. A prophecy that would soon come true.

5) 1968....the rags 1-3 City.. The night we knew we had caught the rags & we were better than them. More importantly, the night they knew it too. It took us to the top of the league and a few games later, we were Champions at St James Park

6) 1968...A few games later, Newcastle 3-4 City. "We are the Champions" of all of the probably millions of teams from schools, pubs to the top of Division 1, City were the best. My Dad had told me about his great CityChampions team of the 1930s, Now I had my own.

7...1969...City 1-0 Leicester, My 1st FA Cup final & 1st visit to the old Wembley. The 1956 Cup Final had been my 1st day as a City fan but it was really my Dad's day, but this day was mine We had new City heroes.

8)... Gilligham....for obvious reasons. My emotions that day of mixed relief/celebration & sheer ecstacy as Dickov scored surpassed all others until.....

9) ...Until.....AGUEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. No explanations necessary for this one.

10)...More a dream than a memory. A wish more than a certainty. But maybe the moment we all crave, maybe later this year, as the City captain lifts the Champions League trophy above his head and shows it to a fanless ground. City the best team in Europe.having beaten Europe's best, having beaten all the cheating UeFA corruption to stop us, having beaten the media insults and lies, the corrupt refs, the corrupt politics of those who belive they are football's elite.
I'm adding this because I have a funny feeling in my water that this year we could it and it saves me adding it to a similar thread in 12 months time.
