Ronaldo would score 25 goals with us, I don't think many people can disagree with that. He's clearly still fit enough for the top level. He's won the Champions League many times (5?) he knows what he's doing.

If you can get over that, he'd be a massive asset and in terms of planning after this season. We'd possibly be more likely to get Haarland next summer and if you add in the effect having a world class player in our squad would have on everyone, most of all the likes of Foden & the youthies, for £25m, I don't really see how we could say no.

We could also write in a season or 2 at New York City, he'd love that.

It seems a lot of transfers these days fall into two basic categories
1 - what a player brings to the table on the field
2 - what a player brings to the table off the field in commercial activity

Grealish, I suspect was a mixture of both with quite a bit of emphasis on the commercial side. He is young, good looking and is the poster boy for England. There will be money to be made on the back of that, rather like the rags with Beckham. Kane to a degree the same. But probably less on the commercial side and more on the playing, but the fact he is England captain should wont go unnoticed.

Ronaldo, like Messi, is now at the stage of his career where the off field benefits are greater than his exploits on the pitch. That isn't to say he wouldn't be worth signing. IMO he is still as fit as he has ever been and is probably fitter than most of our squad. He would very likely score plenty of goals for us. But the commercial aspect would be something else. Also a player like that will attract other players. And it wouldn't be the worst thing to have the press and media and rags in meltdown.

I cant see it happening myself as I think his wages will simply be an insurmountable hurdle. But I would not be averse to seeing him in Sky Blue
