Not as appalling as Heysel .
I will remember all the heroes from World War 2 but I won’t remember a football club I despise continuous down my throat Hillsboro remembrance. We live in a democracy people can choose whatever direction they want . LFC should keep the whole Hillsboro thing to themselves it isn’t a national disaster. I applaud them for overturning the Thatcher / Establishment cover up and corruption they achieved the impossible with that .

I was sat in the Scouse end. It was really embarrassing and sounded very loud. Not our greatest moment. Whether the club milk it or not, you keep your mouth shut and don't give others ammo against you. The few hundred who didn't shut up ruined our good name today.

I've been Wembley 3 times. Gillingham, arsenal a few years ago and today. Think all my luck was spent with Gillingham.

That was the worst 45 minutes I can remember seeing from city. We were as bad as they were good. The only good thing that came out of today was seeing first hand just how much ferna winds everybody up. I've not seen a crowd that riled up over a player since asprilla on curle.

Okay how about this, should there be a minutes silence before the CL Final in memory of the 36 murdered by the dippers?

These replies are deliberately obtuse, surely?

Remember the Derby win, Munich anniversary? We didn't give them a fucking inch and they were all waiting for it, but we were "impeccable". We were baited all week into disrespecting that and our fans did every single one of us proud by shutting the fuck up and not bowing to their morbid wish for us to disrespect the dead.

That's why this Hillsborough shit matters. We all know they milk it, we all know they weaponise it. Don't stoop to their level, let them wallow in their little grief pit.

I always felt that the Munich anniversary was different.
I never remember us saying something bad about that or acting like cunts, but again, not being english I might have missed something.

We lost Frank Swift also, might be that

The loss of life was horrific and should in itself be respected and mourned...If the event was concluded on that tragic day, the football public would have been more respectful.

However, it is the agenda which those surrounding this, which has been the biggest factor in the aftermath feeling.
The media circus brought by the people, who were and still are in the public eye wanting to sue, blame and punish others.
The Sun Newspaper was held as an example. Even now, it seems they want 'justice' and a pound of flesh.

Of course a tragedy should be handled with respect and dignity, but those closest to this have not let this happen, preferring to continue the agenda of
blame and finding scapegoats..
If those who were closest to this had handled this with more dignity, then others may have respected more. Instead it has become a Political situation, instead of what it should have been, a tragic human loss

If it’s on or near the anniversary, yes absolutely and it should be observed. We are not commemorating football we are commemorating and paying respect to loss of life. Who’s fault it is and the ins and outs are for verbal discussion anywhere at anytime except when the respect is being carried out as per todays game.

I thought that it was disrespectful. Whatever I think of the Dippers, and their grief monkey lifestyle, real people died, regardless of my thoughts of how it happened.

The fact that every 3 months they "mourn" about this, they never mention heysel is dumbfounding.

That said, keep your trap shut when they're in the middle of milking. We only give them ammunition

Maybe it's just me and my misinformed youth but I firmly remember our fans (and teenage me) giving it aeroplane gestures any minute we got the chance. Frank swift never came into it, through ignorance absolutely. It was only when I grew up that I realised what I was doing and stopped it. But the north stand in the late 90s was full of Munich stuff.

This. 100%. They use it as a tool. 90% of that lot don't actually give a toss about the victims. They see it as a sort of badge of honour. The way I see it is have respect for the 10% who really have been impacted by it, and don't give the 90% the opportunity to hold us to account. It's not worth the grief.
