To answer Mase yes I do. If Walker had been able to play in the first leg and the whole match in the second I think that alone would have got us to the final. In that mad couple of minutes last night Stones would have been invaluable. Such a great defensive header of the ball. That’s not to say there weren’t bad mistakes made which contributed to our defeat. As I said Ruben was poor last night which seems to be overlooked by the anti Laporte brigade.

No worries, cheers for replying. Dias is coming back from injury and has been rushed in to help the team because Stones isn’t reliable.

But ultimately, I think if we’d taken our chances first leg and Laporte hadn’t jumped with his arm in the air we’d have been out of sight.

Well yes so many ifs and buts but losing Walker for the first leg definitely cost us the second goal at the Etihad imo. Went to the match and it was striking how quickly we lost two goal lead after two goal lead.

it is far more noticeable when he has zinch on the other side. The pair together should not be playing in a CL semi final but that is on Pep and his recruitment. I don't disagree that Cancelo is not a defender but who at the club is playing him as one whilst ignoring the need for a left back. There has to be a reason for this situation. We need quality full backs capable of defending neither zinch nor cancelo are that in the big games but pep persists because we get away with it in the league

With regard to LB - Liverpool picked up Robertson for next to nothing from Hull. I think sometimes we look at getting these players that will cost millions and millions when we should be looking at decent players that have maybe just got relegated.

Cancelo and Zinch did not stop ONE single cross yesterday .

Its unlikely we will be able to shell out 150 million for him as well as paying for Haaland and his mates, and then getting a left back, which we need more than ever now.

I gave Laporte and Dias shit last night but the truth is that we don't deal with crosses at the highest level without decent full backs. I won't be sorry to see laporte go if he does but we've got to get back to a settled back four and leave it the fuck alone

I think it comes down on how we make the deal. I think we can get them both for 200 mil.
The thing is we need to bring more than our 1 summer transfer deal.

I think we are at the end of a cycle with many players. Fantastic servants, but we need to change some of them.

We need a left back, a CB and a striker, Haaland looks like the striker, Tierney at Arsenal looks good, maybe swap with Jesus or Sterling?

Tierney has always looked a good shout but seems to struggle with injuries or has at arsenal.

Always rated tierney after his performance as a youngster against us in the CL for Celtic - I’m think he’d die of natural causes if our medical team got hold of him though

Does he ever play for Arse? I can remember seeing him at all.
I think Esbrand needs game time, or else what's the point? Age has nothing to do with it. Mbappe fucked us when he was 19?
Give him game time from next season.

We really seem to introduce youngsters super slow.

Isn't Rudiger on a free? He's a thug but he can play. I'd happily sell Cancelo. Haaland is a must, Alvarez looks a talent and Rice would be a superb signing. I wouldn't weep if we cut ties with Grealish, he's been pap, let's be honest.

We currently have one of the smallest squads in the PL. If we were to sell/move on 5/6 players then we will have to bring in the same number just to keep the status quo. That isn’t going to happen, it’s that simple

We are likely to be bringing in 3 players max so I’d be stunned if more than 2 left. Pep doesn’t trust the Academy lads with game time at the best of times. Rightly or wrongly we aren’t going to sell Sterling or Mahrez and replace them like for like with McAtee for example.

In an ideal world we would sell Sterling, Jesus, Fern, Laporte and entertain bids for Mahrez and possibly one or two others. We need a forward. We need a left back. We need cover for Rodri. That’s a huge outlay right there. Very soon we need a right back and probably another centre back.

I can foresee us not selling anyone to be honest

Rüdiger has been offered around £250k a week by Chelsea and he wants more. He’ll go to whoever pays the most, so that’s Real or PSG. We don’t want players like that here.

Sterling out. Listen to offers for Mahrez. Same for Laporte.

We need a striker, hopefully Haaland.
Need a lb / rb, preferably lb.
CM would be a good addition but I think we’re covered here.

If both Sterling and mahrez go then we’ll need a winger / forward.

I like the idea of looking for uncut gems a la Robertson. There’s good value to be had here e.g. Ake

I would keep Jesus as he’s a good squad player, not great but can contribute over the season.

I’d also like us to stick to our policy of buying young players of good character.

Grealish can stay but I’ll lose patience with him quickly next season. Has not impressed so far.

Tierney is very injury prone. Id rather go for Aaron
hickey, the young scottish left back at bologna linked with 18m pound move to napoli. He would be perfect
