They're not going to sit back and watch the last few years unfold with the only reason given being that the Spanish lads want to look after barca.

They're not stupid

Agreed. I think we seen from the Toon game how far we are behind on fitness and this would’ve been planned as a post-preseason conditioning game as well as showing that we are a big club in a commercial world.

Personally, I’d tell them to fuck right off and cancel the game, but I’m not in charge.

A lot about nothing and nothing we don’t already know . MCFC are box office and we handle it well . Everyday training will be more competitive than the Barca friendly a game that in itself is a sideshow to the politics and strategy behind the scenes.

Manchester City have been training in Spain before Wednesday's charity game against Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

All money raised from ticket sales will go towards research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), after Juan Carlos Unzue, former Barca player, coach and friend of Pep Guardiola, was diagnosed with the illness in 2020.

ALS is an incurable neurodegenerative disease that sees patients suffer a progressive loss of function, with their life prognosis shortened by four to six years.

I knew it was for ALS but didn't know the personal connection to Pep and Barca.

I read in some random article that we committed to playing our best players when we signed up to this. Don't know if the article is accurate but it certainly makes sense.

I've a feeling your correct, normally these friendlies have an obligation to play a certain amount of first team senior players.
However of all our senior guys Kev must be protected the most, and at least he should be nowhere near the pitch.

City+ £2.99 a month. I've actually just subscribed anyway but it'll be a bit late on a school night for me, up at 4.30
