Wouldn’t mind Napoli giving them the Roma treatment.

Group C: Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Viktoria Plzen

That’s the group to watch. Lewandowski back at Bayern

Not a bad draw for us and trying to work out if Liverpool have a difficult one? Also, Spurs seem to have the easiest draw possible.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Ah the good old champions league group stages, its so boring, so predictable with the seeding everyone knows whos going to qualify already. Fun would be an open draw, that would make a proper competition of it, rather than the fake bollocks it is.

Just fast forward to the quarter finals.

Wonder who will qualify, such a hard one to predict seeing as Inter and Viktoria are such European giants these days.

And now for analysis of the British clubs’ draws…
Manchester City by Sam Lee

Opponents: Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, FC Copenhagen

First impressions of Manchester City’s draw
Given City generally win their group these days, and are just very good at football, it would have to be a remarkably tough group to cause any immediate concern. We could go down the generic sporting director route of saying all the games will be tough, and they should be, but you’d imagine City will have enough. For travelling supporters, they are three great trips.

What looks like the key game and why?
Probably Dortmund, even though Sevilla are the pot two team and Dortmund are pot three. The Spanish side have had a difficult start to the season, haven’t made any real splashes in the transfer market and look light at the back. Dortmund are Dortmund, and any big game at Signal Iduna Park promises to be lively.

Which opposition player are you most looking forward to seeing?
City fans will probably say Jude Bellingham, in case it gives the club’s hierarchy a chance to get in the ears of their counterparts and try to arrange a transfer for next summer. The England midfielder seems destined to make a move to the Premier League and City could do with a midfielder in the next 12 months.

What should the rest of the pool expect from City?
For them to have most of the ball and score a lot of goals! That’s how City generally get through their Champions League groups. There will probably be a draw in there, possibly two, just going by previous years, but barring any shocks, everybody knows what to expect from Pep Guardiola’s men.

What to expect from Sevilla/Dortmund
Sevilla’s start of the season has not offered any reasons to believe they’ll keep up with their renowned European pedigree. The departures of Diego Carlos and Jules Kounde have been a blow too tough to take for Julen Lopetegui’s side, who are still winless after two La Liga games. There’s a concerning lack of spark on the attacking end too, where 30-year-old Isco has been the only new signing.

Dortmund have not been a defensive force either in the Bundesliga so far — they conceded four goals in three games. But Sevilla do not own difference makers such as Marco Reus, Bellingham, Donyell Malen or Karim Adeyemi. An extra level of attacking threat to place them, right now, as second-best candidates to go through.

Martin Samuel gets it spot on yet again - the teams that performed badly in their respective leagues get it easy just because of 'istry'.

The CL is and always will be a joke of a so called competition.

Tomorrow will tell a tale.
Palace will do to us what Newcastle did, if we have not sorted out our midfield and restored some semblance of balance.
