Probably won't be starting for a few weeks now after a hamstring injury. Shame the lad played well and scored a tasty goal.

When you look at it coldly like that it does look like a mistake. Last year when it was clear Ferns days were numbered in my naivety I suggested on here that Lavia just might be his replacement, but it was pointed out he was too young and inexperienced for such a promotion. That was probably the correct view at the time.

We knew he was good and had great potential but still I think his performances this season have surprised many, including us and Southampton, he looks well beyond his years and he has been great for them. OK he is injured now but he is playing and will play a lot more there. He is only going to improve.
There is a buy back clause of some description, so it might not be all bad news.

It’s a fine line. I thought Douglas Luiz was worth buying back as he had a decent first season with Villa, but he seems to have become average now.

Lavia looks spot on. It was Kompany that recommended him to us a few years ago apparently. We’ll have to see if he keeps up these good performances and if he wants to come back if we’re interested. Again, these buy backs are only good if the player wants to come back.

I suppose there is less pressure playing for them than the champions. I'm sure he'll jump at the chance to come back, it all depends what role we offer him. Our midfield is aging, if he keeps improving for next 2 years, he might be in contention for starting place

No use complaining about how the PL officiate to ensure the brand is sustained, just got to do what we do. This has been going on for years and as long as you understand that they need to protect the brand, it’s easy to see how they do it.

Just want to see our club getting equal decisions in the CL and not lose to some fluke, officiating decision or a mind-fuck from our own.
