Football cancelled this weekend...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

A couple of respected football journos have both “tweeted” this morning the FA feared certain anti monarchy chanting , both have fell short of naming the “club” or “clubs “ so felt it in the best interest of the Nation to make the decision they did .
Imho there was no justification in cancelling grass roots football and junior football that should have been allowed to continue surely ?
Not really here

I think that it is pretty obvious that the dippers are reason too, no other precedent for this extended period of cancellations just for football. I posted earlier that City played Derby at Maine Road a couple of hours after the last State Funeral for Churchill in 1965. (They were cheering the death of the Queen at Shamrock Rovers yesterday, a regular pre-season fixture for the dippers and I also don't think Klopp fancied Wolves today either so soon after their humiliation in Napoli.)

the fact that some English clubs also have politicised elements of their fan base was mentioned in the discussions over football’s shutdown.

We should not be bowing to the "fear" that some fuck-wits may not honour and respect the occasion. Let the scouse Celtic, Shamrock , whomever show themselves to the nation for what they are. It would have lived long in the memory for all other teams fans

Ive just had a glance at Rag Cafe as I like to see what some of the scum have to say on current events...........the Cancelled games thread is full of venom towards the Queen.

I was gobsmacked.....there is more respect from rag fans from oversees towards her passing than some of the oxygen thieves from our own country.

Disgraceful.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

It's a great shame that games were cancelled because they feared a minority might disrespect or distrub a minutes silence etc.

Tool a peak on rawk, they don't have a specific topic about the death of the queen.

They do however one titled "the monarchy" that was started back in June and has over 1700 replies, obvioulsy didnt read all of it, needless to say not one good thing said.

Click to the end and they are all complaining about how much the funeral will cost , mainly about it being a bank holiday and extra wages. Ironic really coming from these work shy cunts

Bleach is very effective in those situations

Don't know how likely this is - Irish Sun reporting that all home CL fixtures of English clubs will be played in Dublin.

I wonder how many of the media rats will mention this ,

All major tv channels over here paying tribute to the Queen with great stories & memories .
So I turn to BBC America and they are showing star treck fucking disgraceful

Why would the yanks care?

Wasn't their whole independence based on a hatred of monarchy in general?

Nah, something to do with Alex Harvey bands rendition of "The Boston Tea Party"

Or somebody tell sportbible to stop talking absolute bollox. This was a speculation by the media before the weekend games got cancelled. No mark sport journalists desparate to get back some of the clicks they were losing to the very sad and real news
