But still too short. Next year we will be in the same situation,

This is 100% correct, feels like Pep is playing with a toy. Needed to be at least a two year deal. It seems to me that he is staying to complete the 10 years but no commitment after that. Not an ideal scenario to be bringing in new players who may feel they need to know the man who brings them in is staying longer than one season. I'm eternally grateful for all Pep has done for the club, on and off the pitch, but if we are here again next year at this time of year then the club has to say thanks but we're going in a different direction at the end of the season.

I think the uncertainty of him staying or going had the players playing under par........there was no need for it IMO. He should have made this call weeks ago ( either way)

Agreed. I can accept it was s tough call. Perhaps he was waiting to line up his next move, rumoured to be Brazil in 2026 for the 2030 world cup

I don't think it is a tough call. There is no other club that can offer him what we are offering.
The stability, the free hand to do what the fuck he wants.
He either wants that or needs something else. But, imho, as a coach, he has the best job ever.

Then there the small matter of his 25 million a year salary to consider !
It’s a difficult choice isn’t it

Yessssssss!!!

Get in. Really wanted a 2 year extension so we're not in the speculation circus this time next year.

We are so lucky to have the greatest of all time in charge for yet another team transformation.

Please change the title of the thread :D

Quite insightful interview. He’s open and honest. Every time he’s extended he’s said to himself, “okay it’s the last time” but he’s still here. Says it isn’t the right time to leave - I think he knows we’ve got a rebuild that needs to happen.

It's absolutely fantastic news.
Dippers and rags crying their eyes out.
i reckon it's a pretty good indication the City v the rest of the world on the charges is going very much in our favour as well.

All going his way at the moment so no pressure on him yet. See what he's like after a couple of defeats......
