He was no captain material by any means, from what we've seen, however, I wouldn't change his personality.
I think if he wasn't a hard head, he would end up like Grealish under Pep.

If he wants to stay, if he is all about a huge pay cut and smaller role, I would want him to be here.

A superb player, great for us and without him I doubt we would have won half as much as we have. He's obviously now past his best and is at the end of his career. I think a hard nose business like attitude would say he should have gone at the end of last season, but sentiment has stepped in and Pep is still trying to use him. Personally I don't like to see this stuttering performance for his sake. It does no one any good and for the sake of the team he should say enough is enough. That is not true.he is or was not soft as shit. Rather , he is prone to injury. In Germany he was injured a few times.
Injuries and kdb are the norm.

If you were hit with a brick, they would deliver you to hospital. These guys are profis, managed by profis.
