Can't Juve still qualify if they beat us and Poznan lose?

Nope. Poznan have the tiebreaker against Juve, by virtue of their 3 away goals in Turin.

UEFA Europa League Round of 32 Draw

Postby john@staustell » Thu Dec 16, 2010 9:13 am

Tomorrow, 13.00 CET (12.00 UK?), in Nyon.

Who we gonna get then guys and gals? Or who do we want?

Round of 32
7.07 The 24 clubs qualified from the group stage will be joined by the 8 clubs that
finish the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in third position (see
paragraph 2.05(d)).
7.08 The round of 32 pairings are determined by means of a draw. This round is
played under the knockout system, on a home and away basis (two legs).
The UEFA administration ensures that the following principles are respected.
a) Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.
b) The 12 UEFA Europa League group-winners and the 4 best third-ranked
teams in the UEFA Champions League group stage are drawn against
the 12 UEFA Europa League group runners-up and the remaining thirdranked teams in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
c) The winners and runners-up of the same group cannot be drawn against
each other.
d) The UEFA Europa League group-winners and the four best third-ranked
in the UEFA Champions League group stage play the return leg at home. 12
7.09 The team which scores the greater aggregate of goals in the two matches
qualifies for the round of 16. Otherwise, the stipulations of Article 8 apply.

I'd quite like rangers! If we finish 1st do we get one of the teams that finished second and avoid the champions league teams or how does it work exactly?

Gent, Anderlecht or Ajax for me. I think overall Ajax, though. We're well capable of taking them apart, and it would be nice to do it to one of the 'big boys' of the past.

Edit: it appears Ajax are seeded. Oh well.

Maybe they go on results going back 40 years?

However if we lose and Poznan win, you could get your dream!

Nice work there Quince!

Those Now confirmed from Europa League Group Stages are:

Manchester City, Lech Poznan, Bayer Leverkusen, Aris Thessaloniki, Sporting Lisbon, Lille,
PAOK, Villareal, Dynamo Kiev, BATE, CSKA Moscow, Sparta Prague, Zenit St Petersburg,
Stuttgart, Young Boys, PSV Eindhoven, Metalist Kharkiv, Paris SG, Sevilla, Liverpool, Napoli, Porto, Besiktas.

Those dropping down from the CL are:
Twente Enschede, Benfica, Glasgow Rangers, Rubin Kazan, Basle, Spartak Moscow, Ajax & Braga

As we stand, the final place from the Europa stages is between AEK Athens and Anderlecht in Group G, where AEK just have to avoid defeat against Group Winners St Petersburg to advance.

We cannot draw an English team or a team from our qualifying group also we cannot draw the top 4 CL dropout teams.Rangers by virtue of not beating Bursaspor in Turkey means we could draw them.
